chinahorse 21-01-2018 07:50 PM

Do you not get called lori, lorraine? Thats what my mum gets.

I get lils sometimes, though lillie is actually a nickname technically.

What is everyone having for dinner? I need to do something with the sad looking veg in my fridge but I just cba.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:50 PM

I think its very old fashioned!

I had noodles.
Im rreaallyy craving dominoes though!! D:

Aubergine 21-01-2018 07:50 PM

My Mum calls me "flower" and she calls my sister "Lilly."

I have a nickname that some friends call me, but it's too close to my real name for me to tell you. :P

Sketchy 21-01-2018 07:52 PM

Strangely I’ve never been called Lori.

I had a cheese salad baguette for dinner. Couldn’t be bothered cooking.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 07:53 PM

That’s cute. My mum used to call me baby too. And my sister petal.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 07:56 PM

Dad used to call me tuppence but then he got a dog around 5 years ago and started calling her that- think he loves her more than me! :-P

OOO that reminds me I have a pot noodle in, I could have that.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:57 PM

I was called 'Becca chops' when I was very young because I apparenly had chubby cheeks....

one_step_closer 21-01-2018 08:00 PM

Aww you are all far too cute.

A teacher at primary school started pronouncing the D in my name because there was another person with the same name but different spelling in my class. So it sounded like Lindizzy and it stuck with me into high school where it was shortened to Lindiz or Diz. One of my oldest friends who I don't talk to much still calls me Diz. I absolutely hate it!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 08:01 PM

Aww Becca Chops! :P

My Dad calls me Dude...

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 08:05 PM

Thats a strange way to pronounce your name Lindsay!
Must have been annoying!

Dude is an odd one! Lol!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 08:07 PM

My Dad is an odd one!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 08:12 PM

Haha!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 08:25 PM

:)

I moved from my hammock and got into bed. I am so rock and roll.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 08:32 PM

I like your style aubergine!

I'm still struggling to settle on what to have for dinner. But I need to have something soon as my meds are starting to make me feel sick :/

Oh and I just bought a microwave :D and the lady is delivering it too for £3!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 08:34 PM

Haha!
We're all pretty rock and roll in here :p

Thats a bargain Lillie!!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 08:34 PM

Yay for a microwave! I got a new one for Christmas from my mum. Mine went rusty inside!

Pot noodle is quick? Or make veg into soup by whizzing it up?

chinahorse 21-01-2018 08:39 PM

Meh as long as its still works rust is fine!

Surprisingly considering my job I don't own anything to whizz things in!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 08:43 PM

I got mine as a christmas present 2 years ago.
It is red!

I vote pot noodle!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 08:48 PM

Red microwave sounds cool. Mine is boring black.

Pot noodle then Lillie!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 08:56 PM

I have a red kettle and red tea/coffee/sugar things and garlic crusher too!

chinahorse 21-01-2018 09:01 PM

OOO red is nice though- cheerful.

I have a black washing machine and fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster- all good except my work surface and splash back are black too- you cant see my appliances in the gloom lol

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:01 PM

You have a garlic crusher? How posh!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:05 PM

Haha!
Ninja kitchen appliances! :p

I do! Chels got it for me.
It fact, she got me all my red appliances!
Kettle for last Christmas.
And I love garlic so when I actually do cook, i use it lots!

Sketchy 21-01-2018 09:09 PM

I have a pink kettle, pink toaster and a pink knife set.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:11 PM

I get garlic flake things in a massive pot from the range! Last forever and I am lazy...

That's nice of Chels! :)

Big Bang on netflix. <3

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:11 PM

Nice!!

I really want the rainbow coloured cutlery set in asda but I can't justify spending the £25 when I already have perfectly good cutlery!
Damn being responsible!

Sketchy 21-01-2018 09:13 PM

I was watching come dine with me, but that’s finished. Will probably channel hop until celebrity big brother comes on.

I’ve been watching friends on Netflix.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 09:13 PM

Being a responsible adult sucks Beckie.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:14 PM

My kettle and toaster are chrome. I have multicoloured knives!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:16 PM

Multi coloured knives sound cool!!

Im watchng lord of the rings.
Its the last one
Will probs go to bed after this

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:26 PM

Bed is best!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:29 PM

It is indeed!!
I love my bed.
College tomorrow so 6:30 start :'(

Sketchy 21-01-2018 09:30 PM

That’s an early start. Hope you get a good nights sleep.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:31 PM

Oh wow. 6:30 is no fun.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:31 PM

Thanks!

Yeah really not fun
Especially as its soooo cold!!

chinahorse 21-01-2018 09:32 PM

Ouch that is painfully early! :S

The earliest I have to get up for work is 7.30 though I can in the week get up as late as 8.30 and still be on time to start at 9.

Dont start till 2 tomorrow though so happy days!

Someone convince me not to buy a puppy? I need one!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 09:37 PM

I get up for work at 8am. I hate it! Mornings suck.

Don't buy a puppy!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:37 PM

Thats not too bad Lillie!
Yay for late start tomorrow!

I'm probably the worst person to ask that.
I love puppies!
Wish my landlord would allow pets

Most of the time, once I'm up and about in the morning, I wake up really quickly.
Not so much when I wake up early and am then staying in the house.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 09:38 PM

Mornings are the worst. Always.

Im trying to convince myself it wouldn't be fair on it as I'm not at home in the day a lot.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 09:41 PM

Thats true.
Puppies need a lot of attention!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 10:02 PM

Always the worst! I start work at 9am and often yawn for the first hour or more!

Puppies do need a lot of attention. I'd love to rescue a greyhound. Failing that, I'd like to rehome an older cat who is quite happy to sit on my lap and be stroked. :)

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 10:08 PM

It is hard!
Its hard to believe that some people are actual morning people!

Rehoming is the way to go!

My family's pupper always has to have someone in the house. We don't want to keep her in her crate all alone.
If mum has to go somewhere and there's no one in the house, Sparkles comes for a car ride!

Im off to bed now.
Night night all and sleep well!

nonperson 21-01-2018 10:15 PM

You lucky people starting work so late.

I get up 6am to 6:30 every weekday and start work at 7:30!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 10:27 PM

Night night, Beckie. Sleep well.

That is silly early, Person. Is that 5 days a week? I applaud you!

When I used to work shifts, I would start at 7:30am, finish at 10pm and be back for 7:30 am the next morning. That's if I didn't have to do a sleep in, that was never just sleeping! Never, ever again!

nonperson 21-01-2018 10:34 PM

5 days a week and with some occasional weekends which makes it 12 days in a row!

That's crazy shift work. I'm also pretty sure that's illegal to finish at 10 and be back again at 7:30...

Aubergine 21-01-2018 10:41 PM

It would be, but there's a loophole in the law for places that have to be staffed 24/7. Or there was 8 or so years ago. Don't know about now!

12 days in a row?! Yuck!

My hours are changing soon to 9am - 6pm on Fridays and 2pm - 6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. 4 hour shifts are going to feel like a doddle.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 10:49 PM

I die after 6 days in a row! Couldn't do 12!!

Also yes the loophole still exists.

Be wary Aubergine. I thought that about 4 hour shifts but its too late in the day to do nothing with the morning. Too early to do anything meaningful and by the time you get there you're in 'not work' mode and it drags like hell. Plus you don't get a break.

nonperson 21-01-2018 10:52 PM

Ah silly loopholes. Surely the company should just employ more people instead of making staff work silly hours.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 11:19 PM

We changed partly because my anxiety is worse in the mornings. I'm going to use the mornings to study, even just for an hour or two, so it won't be wasted (studying isn't a waste, right...?) I know what you mean about not being in work mode and it being late in the day, but I used to do 4pm - 8pm shifts in a previous job and it wasn't too bad, even though I did it six days a week. I'm a bit nervous about the change, but think it'll work.

I did those shifts in a care home. Care homes are chronically understaffed. Long hours, minimum wage, getting beaten up (I worked in a home for adults with learning difficulties and behavioural issues)... it is not a thing people stay in long-term unless they are very, very special.

Cacoethes 22-01-2018 07:53 AM

Morning guys
Sooo did not want to get out of my warm bed!
