I remember reading that book 6 years ago and then lending it to my English teacher. Good book.

Crazycatlady 24-06-2012 07:30 PM

I sat down and decided the other day that I have far too many books in my house, and most of them i havent read. So I'm not buying any more books until I have read at least most of them, and then at the end of the year I'm going to by myself a kindle, and give some of my books to a charity shop (I'm going to keep my favourite books though :p )
I'm currently reading The Exorcist, its brilliant!

Dreaming. 24-06-2012 08:03 PM

I'm a-readin' Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. It was recommended by a few friends so I finally caved and bought it.

I've just finished Fahrenheit-451 which was possibly one of the best books I've ever read so felt that any further book would face stiff competition. This one seems to be really quite good (and thankfully different) though.

Next on my list is probably either a Cormac McCarthy book (as I bought two for £5 yesterday!) or Dune by Frank Herbert, depending on how I feel after this.

Love_Bug 26-06-2012 05:06 AM

Eccentrics 26-06-2012 06:47 PM

I feel a little odd because a lot of you guys are reading in-depth literary novels...
...And I'm still reading from the "young adult" *cough* kids *cough* section.
Ah who cares! I love my stereotypical teenage girl vampire stories :D

I've just read The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong - which actually isn't a vampire novel - and now had to rush around to find some leftover birthday money to buy the other two books in the trilogy. The Awakening and The Reckoning :)

Awesome books if, like me, you still love your teenage paranormal fantasy novels!

Stellata 26-06-2012 06:49 PM

I'm reading 'Prep' by Curtis Sittenfeld.

Hobbes 26-06-2012 08:25 PM

The Kid - Kevin Lewis.
Read it before but it's still just as hard-hitting as the first time.

30 pages away from finishing Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. Soon as that's finished I'll be started Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. =)

Rodolphus 28-06-2012 09:17 PM

How are you finding Twenties Girl? I loved it so much. Not as much as The Undomestic Goddess, but still, I loved it.

Also, just in case, Bridget Jones' Diary mentions stuff like calorie count at the top of most entries, if stuff like that can bother you. Other than that, it's a great book :)

I'm re-reading Addition by Toni Jordan. It's one of the best books I've read in a long time. It's about a woman with the compulsive need to count everything in her life. It's so funny and lovely and interesting too.

I'm finding it hard to get into at the moment but that's probably just because of where my head's at rather than how the book is. It's different to other books i've read about DID.
