Who do you admire?
 

My boyfriend told me earlier that he admired me & it kinda brought tears to my eyes because I didn't really think I was special enough to be admired. But I started to wonder who I admire too & I realised I admired my boyfriend & my closest friends, for putting up with me. & I thought more & realised that I really admired my dad. He has diabetes, which I could never cope with, having to watch so carefully over your life, knowing if you didn't take care of yourself, you could end up very ill. He also has psoriasis & it's really uncomfortable for him. Through his life he's never it easy but he's made a really nice life for our family. We'd go on holidays & he'd take us out for meals when he could & made our birthdays really special. He really is an amazing man, he's never shouted at me & he is always there to give me a huge hug & I know that no matter what became of me, my dad would always love me.
But anyways, is there somebody you admire in your life? Is it a celebrity or somebody really close or a whole group of people? I guess this is me just being nosey & trying to do anything other than tidy my room :tongue2:

I don't really admire anyone, to be honest. No-one in particular, anyway.

But back to the whole point before gypseyroselee (what the hell is your name? Lucy?) warped the thread... I admire anyone who is recovering from addiction, with a few people in mind.

my dear friends from here who i have gotten to know over the years, for their strength, their never letting go, and the hope they have and share with me, and the fact that they can always help no matter how low they are, they are always there to listen and support...and make me smile. Thank youguys....

and my hubby...he's my best friend...has been for going on 17 years now (next month). He's been there thru all i've put him thru...always ready to listen, catch me, make me laugh and keep trying.

And my daughter...who is teaching me there is good left in life..i just have to re-learn how to see it ...

My nephew. He makes me feel like I have a reason to be here. He cheers me up when I'm feeling down. His little face lit up with happiness just reminds me of when I was a kid, when I was happy and makes me feel like that kid again. :)

i admire my sister
she started going blind in highschool, now shes legally blind, and she still does amazing in shool and everything
also i admire my brother, he had cancer and he was still able to put up a good fight for it
and i admire my parents for having to deal with all this and yea

I admire Tiia, a very close friend of mine.
I admire the way she lives her life. I admire just the way she is.
She is so strong. She suffers everyday but most of people don't know it or have a clue how much she needs to do just to keep on living day after day.. I think it shows how incredible she is that she's still alive. I know I would have been too weak to still live with a life of her..

Everything she does is something I admire.. Every breath she takes I'm so proud of her..
There's nothing in her that I don't admire.

I guess I admire my parents. They have put up with so much shti from me, they cope with my moods, screaming fits, not talking to them and basically everything that makes me like I am. They are also a personal taxi service, taking me anywhere whenever i want to go, including a hour each way to therapy twice a week.

I also admire the staff at the adolescnt ward i was in. They put up with everything and still provided hugs, comfort and help.

i admire my english teacher who left, she was a kinda role modle for me when i had no one else.
I admire my best freinds; hele, because she has put up with me for so long and been there for me if i needed her, and not got annoyed or angry; chrissy, because even after everything she is still here and still fighting, i love her to bits, helen cos she puts up with my stubborness :P, and she always puts others first (includineing walking barefoot for 2 and a half miles so someone else could use her shoes!); and alee, for not giveing up
i admire my brother, cos we havent exactly had easy childhoods but he turned out normal, and has always been there for me.

I admire my old media teacher. He really helped me deal with my anxiety, which no one had ever bothered to do before. He gave me the big burst of self-confidence that I needed, and seemed to be the first person to ever care about my welfare.

My best friend, Laura. She's been through the seventh layer of hell, and come out the other side. She is an inspiration to me, and I admire her so much.

My bestfriend. I love her so much. She's funny and just amazing. No matter how **** i'm feeling she can always cheer me up. We've been friends for 10 years, and i know we'll be friends until we're old and senile.

My boyfriend. For loving me. I don't know how he does it. If i was him, i would have split up with me ages ago. I love him more than anything. And i can't wait until we're married.

my closest friend, Amy. she always manages to cheer me up. just knowing that she's there makes me feel a bit better. even though i've put her through so much sh*t she's still here and i REALLY appreciate everything she's done for me. she's the nicest, sweetest most caring friend ever and i dont know what i would do without her. i love you Amy!!

I admire a teacher of mine who listened to me and just provided space for me to talk to him whenever I wanted to - he was literally a rock for about 4 years and I think dealing with something like that takes a lot of character, perseverance and dedication - which I really admire.
