So a new doctor who is to be announced at 1735 on Doctor who confidential on BBC1 tomorrow.

So who do people hope/think it will be ?

I don't really have any desires to who I want it to be.

I'll undoubtedly dislike the choice at first, but I'm sure it'll grow on me - seems a bit weird to announce the new doctor when they won't actually be playing him on our TVs for some while, as Tennant's doing the 09 specials and such.

Maybe it will be the doctor's daughter, Jenny, is she part time-lord? :S
i liked Jenny so i hope it is her but they will probably continue with tradition and cast a male as the new doctor, i heard a rumour james nesbitt was going to be the new doctor but i don't think it is true

Mike, it's happening tomorrow still . On the 3rd Jan. I think James Nesbit would be good, I think having a women would be a bit wierd too.

I loved the actor who played the son in the family of blood I kind of hope he would be the doctor although I don't know how good he would be in a less evil role.

It can't possibly be a character that we've already met because it just doesn't work like that. It could be an actor that played a small part like Freema Agyeman did before she played Martha but that's the extent of it.

He's not very well known he's been in a couple of things in the BBC. He's only 26, he's a good actor or at least was in the things Ive seen. But he is young and that's going to be odd

I think he will be alright I think as you say he will have a lot to live up to if he wants to equal David but at the same time maybe he shouldn't try to equal, just be the doctor that he turns out to be . I hope they dont play on his age too much, making the episodes especially focused on that fact .

Judging by his facial expressions, his hand movements and his hair, he'll make a good doctor. Yeaaah, he has a hell of a lot to live up to, but I wasn't sure about Tennant taking over from Eccleston!

Is a bit ridiculous, no offence at all intended, but EC is a fictional character, if anything he looks a bit like Robert Pattinson the actor who play EC but I don't think he does really.


I really don't think he's meant to be 'eye candy' either, I mean, he's the Doctor he's not there to look at, he's there to save the universe.


I like him, he is natural, a bit odd.
He doesn't play a character we already know like lots of the people who were slated to play him. I think he's got potential.

i hope they do something to make him look older. He looks too young. No one's going to listen to the doctor when he looks like a sixth former

He did remind me a bit of Robert Pattinson. I found it amusing thinking of what it'd be like if he was the new doctor.

Then I got sidetracked and thought of Russell Brand or Noel Fielding as the doctor. Noel Fielding is more believable because of the craziness of the Boosh.
