Hi wanted to know there any other physicallydisabled ryl members
i kinda feel that i am on my own here

i have Fibromygla & chronic back pain i use a wheelchair most of the time when am out the house
and not need to use it much in the house

Im not physically disabled but have a learning disability.

i used to be in a wheelchair, when i was abotu 10/11
but after intesive therapy i can now run and walk and even completed juke of edinborough. i too have a learning disability.

I had M.E (Chronic Fatigue Syndrom) for 10 years.
I ended up in a wheelchair for a few years when I was 10.
I don't emember much of that time, but I'll always remember my dad trying to push me up the hills at Edinburugh Zoo hehe.
I've been a million times better for the last year or so.

Fortnately it is only a small one as I'm paritally deaf (rather than profoundly deaf) but it's still not easy for me

Mmm, I guess I have veeeeeery bad eyesight, I can't see much without my glasses other than a mass of blur.
But I never really saw it as a disability.

I would imagine that there are alot of people like that.

im not really classed as physically disabled but i have scoliosis which can cause me some trouble, ive grown up with disabilities in the family though as my mum has chronic back pain and my two older brothers have Jouberts Syndrome, Epilepsy and Tourettes.

i used to be in a wheelchair as a child as i had woke up one day and psyically couldnt walk. went to the hospital where i stayed for a few weeks before they told me taht i was making it up and sent me home with a zimmerframe and wheelchair, cheeky b's! a year later they found out that i had septic artiritus in my hip and had lost nearly all the cartlidge in it! luckily because i was only 4 it grew back and i can walk now.

as for hidden disability i suffer from 24/7 cramping stomach pains, have constant shooting pains in my legs and have sickness and diarhea a good few times a month. i was in hospital on a morphine drip with it last year, they diagnosed me with endometriosis through key hole surgery, then went back and cut me open to remove the endo only to discover i didnt have it afterall. so back to square one. i have to go and see a gastro intestinal person on wednesday to see if they can find out whats wrong.

Its nice to know that we arent alone in this, thanks for starting the thread honey.

I think this is a lovely thread. I have to say in my naivety it's nothing something crossed my mind, but it's *always* nice to know that you aren't alone!

Do you find RYL helpful stil? Was it your physcially disability, or SH that bought you here?

i have flat feet.
iv never seen it as a dissablity it just means i cant walk to far without me insoles in.

but we are all diffrent and have diffrent needs.

I have osteoporosos...which isnt really disabling me as such yet...but i'm in pain now which one day wil probably get worse and il end up in a wheelchair.

hmm well im deaf in my right ear and its abnormally small compared to my other ear. gosh why did i just post that? lol well eh all well. but yea i have one ear smaller than the other ear. if you want to see i can show you a pic of me lol

I have a form of bi-polar that I can't pronounce.

i think we should have a therd just for us to talk about our disability's in the support forum
it can cover any thing from how we feel about it to disability rights

Im the same! people think its funny to take my glasses sometimes but like...i can barely see without them, so its not that fun :|

I have a minor disability, thr cartilage in my left knee doesnt work to well anymore, meaning I can't walk for long distances. The worst thing is I have to watch my mates play games at youth group, and do the crosds country, while I'm on the sidelines not being able to pacipatate.

Ditto! I find it so disorientating. Also I know this sounds a little weird, but I really find it hard to hear without my glasses on, I think it's because I have to use so much concentration to try and see.

I have a spectrum of learning difficulties and although they don't particually bother me now. Only ADHD still bothers me when I get manic. It was hard for me during my school years.

I think it's really cool that RYL has brought you all together. I realise how slushy that sounds but yeah *nods*

*huggles* I think one of my friends had two very small ears and had the hearing aid that was in her head or something, and they actually gave her 'fake' ears as it was, so she looked like she had normal ears. Which is cool, because people badly bullied her because of them :(
