discussion started by Harley about nurses giveing out blades. please read it, cos everyones different oppinions are quiet interesting.

anyways, i was wondering how many of us would actually go to a hospital and ask a nurse for a blade?

akita 09-06-2007 10:12 AM

I no longer self harm but i think i would have if i knew they were handing them out.

Rawrk 09-06-2007 10:27 AM

I don't know, depends how desperate i was/the situation/lots of other stuff.

And Hi Liz =p

.lost.the.tin.can. 09-06-2007 10:42 AM

Hell no.

chingas 09-06-2007 10:43 AM

way too embarrasing!!

_plastic 09-06-2007 10:50 AM

Never!

rainb0w.sparkl3s 09-06-2007 12:54 PM

for me it depends on who the nurse is. there are a few nurses in our local area who i would be comforatable asking because they know me, they know my past etc, but it would still depend on how desperate i am and the situation. Any other nurse. No i probably wouldnt. I'd just go to the shops.

OneLonelyTree 09-06-2007 01:23 PM

i think if i were in the hospital already then yes...but i would never drive to the hospital just to get some blades...seriously...might as well buy them cause it would cost more in gas to get to the hospital...

charcoal feathers 09-06-2007 03:25 PM

No, i wouldn't.
i don't like the thought of it, them knowing what id end up doing to myself.

ghosts in the machine 09-06-2007 03:48 PM

Yes, I'd go get some, even though I'm technically "recovering". I'm pretty deperate/pathetic. And I'm up at the hospital pretty much all the time anyway (my mam works there + my counselling + it's up my road) so I wouldn't be making a special trip or anything.

Tig 09-06-2007 04:06 PM

I don't think I would because I would be too embarrased & also I wouldn't want the questions - I would feel really guilty as well, even though they probably wouldn't care I would feel guilty knowing they gave me that blade.

Having said that though, if I was desperate maybe, but I doubt it.

raining 09-06-2007 04:47 PM

I would feel bad and slightly ashamed for asking, also theres something in me that might feel a bit bad if someone just handed something to me that i would hurt myself with.
I find it difficult asking for help or anything so to go into a hospital or to a nurse to get medication than okay but to ask for a blade of all things i dont think i could do.

Jayda 09-06-2007 05:24 PM

It depends on the situation I guess. If I'm trapped in a hospital and I need to cut and nothing else worked, I'd ask. However, as for normally, no. It would be much easier and less humiliating to just go to the store and buy a 10 pack for $1.50.

Hannah_x 09-06-2007 10:09 PM

Good God no.

Arohnr 09-06-2007 10:59 PM

Depends on my state of mind.

DropDead- 09-06-2007 11:09 PM

I know i would, the hospital is pretty close to me,closer than where i buy my razors from. And i mean if you get them once, then they won't ask the questions again,so it won't be as awqard.

purexcocaine 09-06-2007 11:11 PM

Wouldn't.
And why would a nurse give out a blade, knowing what you're going to do with it.
But yeah, I wouldn't, just revealing way too much information to someone I don't know.

Not in a million years. Imagine it would be a bit of an awkward conversation too.

Graphite 10-06-2007 05:27 AM

heh i wouldn't, i grow attached to my cutting tool lol  have to develop a bond with it and all that, so just going to a nurse wouldn't really give that .

Amie 10-06-2007 05:37 AM

I might, it would be embarassing but it depends on how i was feeling and the situation.

Jynxed 10-06-2007 06:01 AM

I would, since I already went to my doctor and asked, and she gave me some.:ermm:

JGirl1001 10-06-2007 06:46 AM

i wouldn't know what to ask.... or how... it would seem all to strange to me

BeautyFiend 10-06-2007 01:08 PM

Nopes

Dan 10-06-2007 01:31 PM

Yes, i would. It's better then what i'm using at the moment.

And maybe someone would ask questions, you know? Maybe i'd like to get noticed and offered help without directly asking :/

lydia. 10-06-2007 01:46 PM

Nopers.

perfection is a flaw 10-06-2007 05:02 PM

i actually have, it would say that it was embarassing but i was feeling so desperate that i just didnt care........she wouldnt give me any though.

Karinnarain 10-06-2007 05:11 PM

Though it might be better than what I'm using I couldn't deal with the awkward. I mean is bad enough talking to my best friend of 4 years about it, let alone someone who I just met. :notsure:

Sofie 10-06-2007 07:03 PM

I don't know. It would feel a bit odd asking for something like that. To me it's not much from me asking permission to cut myself...

EyelinerAndCigarettes 10-06-2007 07:13 PM

i would want to, but would be waaaay to ashamed to acctually do it.
xx helen

Steel Magnolia 12-06-2007 02:38 PM

Tearjerker 13-06-2007 02:14 AM
