Were you ever on TV?

Like the title says, were you ever on TV and why?

I've been on Irish TV several times, every year for five years on st.patricks day with marching band, also on The Royal Tournament with marching band (on English TV) and I've danced on a few Irish TV shows, and also I was at a televised mass for organ donors (my uncle had a transplant) oh and I was in the audience for a few Irish TV shows too.

I'm surprised I didn't break the tvs!

Isoverity 08-01-2013 04:47 AM

I was interviewed for a US public tv documentary about Nantucket. I even had to sign a release statement. I was also an extra in a movie that was on TV. That was kind of weird because I wasn't even sure what the movie was about until I saw it lol

Sentient Treacle 08-01-2013 04:54 AM

I had the role as the protagonist in this small film called "The Dark Knight Rises",

and I was on the West Midlands BBC news once, to critical acclaim.

Scumbelina 08-01-2013 05:26 AM

mat 08-01-2013 05:40 AM

Yeah. No deets prefer y'all to not know much about me.

cloudedmind 08-01-2013 11:02 AM

I was on TV when I was 8 :)

Bleeding Angel 08-01-2013 12:22 PM

I was on the news once, walking down the street however i was more annoyed about it as they did not have my permission.

Zedebee 08-01-2013 01:33 PM

No but my dad's been on the news, and me and my parents have been in the newspaper a few times =). Oh and I was on the radio a year or so ago too.

offlineforever 08-01-2013 03:10 PM

I was on my local news in the background for a few seconds once, but I am slightly well known in my hometown as being a handler for a furry there!

nowhereman 08-01-2013 04:33 PM

Oh I've been in the newspaper a few times too, with band and stuff. I also read out a poem I wrote in the radio once with a creative writing class I was in. Plus I was on a billboard add for the election (I got to do that through drama college). I actually forgot about the Ryl documentary when I posted this.

FabulousMike 08-01-2013 04:38 PM

I was in the paper once and i've been in a Union mag once or twice.

Foxtrot Oscar 08-01-2013 04:48 PM

Me! When I was at infant school my class made a documentary for BBC Watch all about how butter is made. I had to shake local cow's milk (rural school) until it curdled into butter. I've recently found the documentary on You Tube funnily enough. However, the thing I remember being the most exciting was having to spend the day in the drama room as our classroom was being used for the filming!

sajhfuahuefghaeg 08-01-2013 04:54 PM

Been in a news report for my stilts.

And the carnival that happens every year in my home town. That's about it.

Who's still around who was in the doc..? Anyone?
*tries to think back to who was in it*

& nope, I've not been on telly.

Feel_Good_inc. 08-01-2013 06:07 PM

I think I might have been in the background of a news report. Just one of the crowd. But it's hard to say since only the reporter was in focus it's hard to know if that colourful blob was me.

I've been in the local paper a couple of times, but nothing special, still just one of a crowd.

And my photo was used in a Romanian newspaper. The equivalent of the Metro in Romania. we all thought they'd use a group shot but I was most surprised when they used my picture.
We were out there for charity work.

Field Of Paper Flowers 08-01-2013 06:55 PM

I've been on Gems TV and a show for BBC Three before, when I studied media at college we went to so mini work experience as runners and it was so cool! Gems TV was great to work for and due to their cameras and such people at home could see us working. :)

I've been on KERRANG! Radio a lot doing interviews about live bands and such I've seen there, that was awesome. :D

Sketchy 08-01-2013 07:14 PM

Yip. I was on an episode of a kids factual program when I was about 10 or 11. My mum taped it and still has it. I am mortified to think of it now!

FranticMind 08-01-2013 07:27 PM

I was an extra in Waterloo road in the last 2 series.

little.ophelia 08-01-2013 07:53 PM

In China, because some Chinese tv station came to tape the camp I worked at last summer!

And for some really embarrassing thing on local tv that was a project in my 7th grade foods class called "Kids in the Kitchen" or something.

Petrichor 08-01-2013 07:58 PM

I was on cartoon network for about 10 seconds as a child. They were filming at my local shopping centre, and my brother pushed me up the front and they asked me a question. When I got the right answer they gave me pencils and stationary stuff. XD

pixiedust_11 08-01-2013 08:31 PM

Wait.. there was an RYL documentary? All I can do is apologise for not knowing  Can someone please enlighten me?

I played Nev it Up on Smile once. Totally won the top 5 DVDs and an underwater camera. Like a pro. I was also on BBC Radio last year talking about anti-depressants in young kids, made a thread on it at the time! Have also been in the paper quite a few times, but that's nothing uncommon nowadays!

GlitterTrashDoll 08-01-2013 09:47 PM

I was in the audience for Jeremy Kyle with some friends. It was hilarious.

The following content has been hidden - Reason : Photos

Brown hair, yellow top, demin jacket in the front row.

Mrs Sam 08-01-2013 09:58 PM

Local tv and newspaper for dancing loads of times as a kid.

Also there was a programme done on having Internet at home and it was filmed in my parents street. My dad was on at the start washing the car. Haha. Was on Channel 4 actually and loads of my neighbours were on it.

makedamnsure 08-01-2013 10:00 PM

I've been in the Jeremy Kyle audience.

And in a charity bike ride I briefly appeared on Blue Peter when i was a kid - all you see is me and my Dad cycle past the cameras and my Dad take both hands off his handlebars to wave madly at the camera whilst I duck my head and do my best to hide!

The Stolen One 08-01-2013 11:40 PM

Amy, that's so funny! Impressed how much you can tell it's you!

I've been on dancing on ice a few times, and the news once when I was younger with Fred the weather man.
Been in papers a bit though - rather embarrassingly a picture popped up of me on the front page (a big one) that was totally unexpected. My school must have given it to them.

Bellatrix 08-01-2013 11:46 PM

Yup, I be an actor.

ASkatersDream... 08-01-2013 11:55 PM

I was on blue peter when i was 12 doing a game to win a chance to see michelle mcmanus from pop idol lol. got the blue peter badge still

Fire Fly 09-01-2013 12:03 AM

GlitterTrashDoll 09-01-2013 12:18 AM

I've also been in the paper when I voluteered at a Santas Grotto when I was 12 and again in 2009 when my class at collee mase an educational video with the Emergency Sevices in South Yorkshire. My dad has been in the paper a few times though.

nowhereman 09-01-2013 12:19 AM

Oh I forgot I was also an extra on Fair City (Irish soap), and I was in the paper for drama.

Leo Pard 09-01-2013 01:36 AM

I gave a small pot of Honey to the Mayor of Berkhamsted whilst dressed as a bee on TV once.

It was for Sgt. Pepper which is a charity rock concert in my home town every year. I used to be in Pepper Youth and be on stage and dance and stuff but now I am on crew for it. It's how I discovered that I love Lighting so much.

what_the? 09-01-2013 01:41 AM

I was in the background on Doctors once. I was so proud. I'd spent most of the 4 years of my undergrad trying to get into it. Then in my last term I accidentally stumbled into the set.

You could see me coming out of my building, starting to walk across to the building where they were filming, and then swearing and dropping my water bottle, cause I was cross they were blocking the water fountain.

When I saw the episode I was so excited. My life is thrilling.

nowhereman 09-01-2013 04:53 AM

Well since we're doing photos, here is the billboard ad I was on, I'm on far left.

EmilyTHEgreat 09-01-2013 05:16 AM

When I was like 5 there was a pewee gold tournament and there was a clip of me putting lol

I was also on their Teletubbie first annual. I'm the one that sat in dungarees that's made a mess on the floor whilst everyone else does handprints. Not sure why the annual came our many years after I was on at the episode? Hehe

Killer Queen 09-01-2013 02:10 PM

Yep, my school choir was on the TV, at one point they did a big close up on my face and it was AWFUL. I ran upstairs.

sherlock holmes 09-01-2013 07:27 PM

OOH PICK ME PICK ME

I was in the RYL documentary on channel 4 for about two minutes. Zing.

My Dad was interviewed on the BBC 6 o'clock news about the police pay cuts or something like that. And he was in the local paper last week for his stand up comedy.

Wonderland. 09-01-2013 07:33 PM

I got filmed in the background on the news when we got stranded on some motorway down south when a big lorry exploded.

Can someone please tell me what this RYL documentary is about? :P

sherlock holmes 10-01-2013 01:08 PM

It was a documentary called The Cutting Club that featured some members from RYL (most have left now) and the owner of RYL Harley (who I don't even know is still about).

That's about it really! It was on tv around 2005 or 2006. I have a copy upstairs somewhere.

DrWatson 10-01-2013 02:10 PM

I was interviewed for the local 6 o'clock news 2 years ago. They wanted to interview young people who had taken part in anti-austerity cuts protests. It was fun, but the interview was quite nerve-wracking!

whirlpools 10-01-2013 03:11 PM

I've been in the newspaper a few times (only the local one though). I was also nearly in a documentary when I was in hospital; there was a director who came to quite a few of our groups to talk about it, but in the end we decided not to go ahead with it due to the nature of confidential stuff that was discussed there. In a way I wish we had have gone ahead with it as the unit eventually closed because of lack of funding/referrals.

I have the Ryl documentary on DVD somewhere. I forgot I was on radio another time when I was randomly stopped and asked something about taxis. I got a free box of chocolates for it though.

not_so_insig 11-01-2013 08:35 PM

I was on Bargain Hunt, albeit in the background. It was filmed in Oswestry a couple of years ago, and I appear in the background when Catherine Southon is talking about a teddy bear.

I appeared in Newsround (and the BBC Six O'Clock News/Nine O'Clock News because they repeated it), because they came to film our primary school when I was about 7. I appeared when John Craven was still presenting it.

I appeared on a couple of Welsh programmes on S4C in 1992 because I did the Eisteddfod and they filmed us recording the songs (we had to do in a proper music studio) and the actual eisteddfod itself.

I have done 3 training DVDS, two were around mh and one was around adult safeguarding. The safeguarding one is actually available online on the SSIA website, pm me if you want to see it (or are nosey and want to see who I am LOL).

My signature (which hasnt changed picture wise since I have joined) is on the RYL documentary.
