Washing machine

My washing machine is making weird noises.
Now, Rob informed me a couple of weeks ago that its not supposed to be making these noises.
It kind of sounds like it's trying to escape by jumping out of its designated area.
Or it's humping the floor enthusiastically.
Who knows.

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 02:12 PM

It's humping, lot's and lot's of humping..

It's just horny, send it my way ;)

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 02:21 PM

First sheep, now washing machines. *shakes head*

:p

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 02:22 PM

Sheep will always come first! hahah..

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 02:40 PM

.......... *facepalms*

shadow-light 23-12-2012 02:43 PM

my parents washing macjhine used to do that... it used to sound like an airplane taking off and then it would start shaking and end up jumping across the room lol, sometimes it even unplugged itself and often it caused minifloods :ermm: can't remember what was wrong with it... but I do remember that it ended up being replaced

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 02:46 PM

I should probably call the letting agent about it..... really don't want it leaking over Christmas when people can't/won't do anything about it!

My old cpn used to fix my heating for me, don't know how good she'd be at washing machines :p

squirrelspit 23-12-2012 02:58 PM

if you take off the bottom pannel of the washing machine, there will be a doings you can unscrew and thats where all the hair grips and change and things live, sometimes if you clear that out it stops the noises.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 03:08 PM

That sounds far too complicated for me.
I'll be scared of breaking it 0_o

whirlpools 23-12-2012 03:13 PM

That kept happening to mine so my dad adjusted the feet on it which seemed to fix it for a while. Now i've moved, it's happening again. Sometimes it happens if you put too much in it, also.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 03:27 PM

Live on your own they said

It will be fun they said

talaiporia 23-12-2012 03:53 PM

My first thought on reading the title was "I wonder if she put fairy liquid in the machine?". Cos I did that at work once, with the industrial dishwasher. It had ... unexpected results. The entire back room was filled up with bubbles when I went back. Kinda cool.

No idea about the washing machine, maybe something's loose.

akita 23-12-2012 04:23 PM

Also it could be the belt underneath that is broked.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 04:43 PM

Is it likely to blow up?

talaiporia 23-12-2012 05:01 PM

Nope. But it might keep making more and more noise and then one day break and stop spinning.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 05:03 PM

That would suck.

No... No it's not!

Mrs Sam 23-12-2012 05:46 PM

It also does that if you overfill or under fill it. Or put shoes in!

Or it could be the weight/ balance is off.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 05:50 PM

Put shoes in it?!!?

BridgesAndBalloons 23-12-2012 05:52 PM

Some shoes/trainers are okay to wash, I used to wash mine that I wore to walk my Mom's dogs, they come up pretty well. Obviously you have to be careful and not just wash any footwear as it could understandably ruin some types of shoes.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 05:55 PM

I'm such a domestic n00b!!

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 05:58 PM

You're a noob full stop...

BOOM!

SilentBoy 23-12-2012 06:02 PM

I honestly do keep expecting it to explode mid wash!

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 06:07 PM

Not cool Clippy :plain:

I've done 2 loads of washing today, but I think its getting worse :/

SilentBoy 23-12-2012 06:08 PM

Who's clippy?

I'd seriously get your landlord to look at it!

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 06:18 PM

Mike is Clippy!

I will do. But Christmas and ****...

SilentBoy 23-12-2012 06:19 PM

I see.

Yeah that's fair. I'd note a reminder though!

Buttons. 23-12-2012 06:52 PM

It's clearly the little green man who hides in washing machines and steals socks.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 06:52 PM

*paranoia flare!*

Buttons. 23-12-2012 06:54 PM

Oh dear, my bad ;-p *hoping you're joking otherwise am biggest asshole around*

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 06:55 PM

Don't worry, I'm joking! ;p

Buttons. 23-12-2012 06:57 PM

Thank fiddlesticks for that! *frowns*

Buttons. 23-12-2012 06:58 PM

Would be an interesting paranoia episode to bring up with your CPN though 'You don't understand, it's the sock stealing little bastard that's the problem' *rocks*

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 07:01 PM

I'm seeing her tomorrow. Might do it just for the lolz : p

To be honest, I don't think she'd be shocked.
Me and my mh team still laugh about when I tried to buy an ostrich!!

makedamnsure 23-12-2012 07:21 PM

Our washing machine used to try to escape an end up half way across the kitchen. We got better grips for the feet and then it was ok.

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 07:22 PM

I love the image I have now of washing machines escaping!!

In other news, I just got BBQ sauce right in my eye. And I'm wearing glasses!
Speshul

Mrs Sam 23-12-2012 08:16 PM

I wash most of my shoes. Some survive and some don't. It's a risk I'm willing to take. I find primark crappy trainers tend to come out missing soles or other bits. I even put my uggs in but they're denim ones. All Simons trainers go in. I do a shoe wash about once a month.

Mandimoo 23-12-2012 08:21 PM

Mine did that after having it in and oout 6 times in a week (stupid heating pressure tap is behind washing machine), I jammed a teatowel'down the side and it stopped it from dancing lol. The worst is if yoyou wash one or ttwo big towels andand nothing else, ththrows the machine off balance when it tries to spin

MunchBox 23-12-2012 08:41 PM

It's obviously a bomb, so ya better run motherplucker!

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 08:42 PM

Oh Becky, this will help you..

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 08:47 PM

I did....

Not.

MunchBox 23-12-2012 08:50 PM

*cries emo tears*

Sorry about hijack.
Maybe Beckie should rename this thread:
The "Mary and Michael are awesome, sorry Beckie. Anna" Thread.
Oh, the memories.

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 08:52 PM

Are they the emo tears that kill puppies? I have them!

Oh my days, that would be freaking amazing and would actually make my Christmas!

The amazing memories, I loved LOVED that thread!

Cacoethes 23-12-2012 08:56 PM

And where is Anna?

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 08:57 PM

I'm not totally sure, I miss Anna..

ANNA! ANNA! Come here, Anna!

MunchBox 23-12-2012 09:02 PM

She's sometimes lurking around, like a ninja, an orange one in fact.

FabulousMike 23-12-2012 09:03 PM

Wow, she has A*L the orange ninja skills!
