Halloween Costume Ideas?

So... what's everyone dressing up as for halloween?

Also, I'm trying to figure out a good costume for myself... well, I need several costumes, due to all the parties I have to attend (parties start the Thursday before Halloween)... a few of those I don't have to worry about, as I lost a bet and have to let someone else pick out my costume... but I'm sort of worried about what he'll pick, so I'm bringing my own costume just incase lol

Really tho... I need ideas... I want something that's NOT along the lines of playboy bunny material... which is all that the guys have suggested so far (I'm now fairly certain Halloween was created by a male).

Fridge/freezer box > painted > armholes > facehole = MILKY!

Old Greg 10-09-2007 04:23 PM

Honestly, all I can think of is nurse, devil, army girl and other stuff like that.

I wanted to dress in a straight jacket and go around hunched down. Doubt I will though.

lonely eskimo 10-09-2007 04:51 PM

Catsuit. Mm.

Tears and Rain 10-09-2007 04:53 PM

Men. Honestly. :P

I so don't agree...
EHem.

Hows abouttt.
You go as a bumblebee.

:]

Paperdreams. 10-09-2007 05:02 PM

Halloween? Isn't that like.. ages away? I haven't even thought about it.

claireyfairy 10-09-2007 05:07 PM

I can never be bothered with one lol.
Besides being myself is normally horrific enough >.>

Kangaroo 10-09-2007 05:11 PM

Go as a ghost - you'll only need to cut a couple of eye holes in a bedsheet.

lostdoll 10-09-2007 06:22 PM

Frig, seeing "halloween" makes me want to groan :/ Its so far away (well it is and it isn't but I don't like to think that far ahead). Soon it'll be the C word.

I really want to go out this year for Halloween as there's a place in N.Ire that's really...big into it, everyone dresses up and goes out and watches fireworks and what not. Should be good. If I go out I'd like to dress up as... maybe something traditional like a witch. I'll have a think.

Haha I know a fella who dressed up as a pumpkin one year, tights and everything. His friend was in a really tight children's devil outfit.

craola 10-09-2007 06:26 PM

Sharloid. 10-09-2007 06:43 PM

You can't dress up as nurses and bumble bees and stuff for halloween!
Pfft. You have to dress up as something scary/dead/wierd.
:P

IamJamesGreens 10-09-2007 06:53 PM

How about not bothering going around scrounging and bullying innocent people into handing over food they've paid for and you haven't, and don't give me that bullshit 'It's all innocent' crap. I had to - on no less than than 10 separate occasions - walk round to my Grans, and either tell the ****ers to **** off before I make sure they end up in hospital or clean up egged windows.

This year, however cold it is I will sit outside my Gran's and tell every stupid ****er to **** off before they even open the gate and if they don't well I hope they enjoy the hospital food.

Raze 10-09-2007 07:00 PM

Oooh I love halloween costumes. I'm 24 and I've been making my own costumes for years. The year The Two Towers came out, I made elven archer armour out of craft foam and posterboard... I've done dark elf (used clothing shops are your friend!) and this year I'm doing Jadis, the White Witch from The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. She's got tons of awesome dresses (the stone table dress being a cool one). I'm making her battle dress from the end of the movie.

Seriously, well done movie characters are hard to find at parties...

I think i'ma gunna go zombie this year quite possibly...

lonely eskimo 10-09-2007 11:47 PM

I went as a ghost once. But it looked much more like a KKK costume. Not so popular.

xxendlessxx 10-09-2007 11:52 PM

My mate and I went as vampires last year. We were cool! We had inflatable wings from poundland! hehe xx

gypsyroselee 10-09-2007 11:54 PM

go as a nazi.

it worked for prince harry...

lost_star_6 11-09-2007 01:37 AM

Well... 2 years ago I was a ghost... you know cut to holes in a sheet for eyes... then last year I was superman which was totally fun... but sadly this year I have a test on halloween...

Guest Visitor 11-09-2007 01:47 AM

I don't know what I'll do yet - depends on what's going on in town, and if my boyfriend is home.

Ideas: prison inmate, bloody zombie toast, bloody zombie girl, a jar of jelly beans, an animal, or you could always get a friend and dress up as a horse.

sillystring 11-09-2007 03:27 AM

Wow, you guys have some awesome ideas! I'm digging the white sheet with holes cut out and being a ghost... I may end up doing that.

One of my friends took me on a shopping spree at the military surplus store... apparently I'm dressing up as SOMETHING military on at least one occassion... apparently everyone else thinks it'd be funny to have me in just a man's military jacket or something for when Chief stops by... we got a couple of those, and they are like short summer dresses on me... I'm outnumbered so I went along with it. Military uniforms are hot and itchy tho- and I'm ONLY going along with it this once because I've gotta admit, it may be fairly amusing to see what Chief's reaction is. Between the shopping spree at the surplus store, and pre-existing uniforms, there are endless possibilities. One of my shipmates was even talking about having me borrow her husband's uniform, he's VERY tall and the top would go down to just below my knees, making it like a dress... and I could be sitting behind a desk or something waiting to meet with Chief, and it'd look all normal until he walked in and I stood up... we've got a while to play around with the different combinations and see what we come up with.

random.swirls 11-09-2007 08:00 AM

Vampires, Witches, Ghost's, Pumpkins, and so on is what Halloween is about!

IamJamesGreens 11-09-2007 11:48 AM

Am I the only one who sees Halloween for what it truly is - begging and scrounging off innocent people for food they have paid hard-earned money for?

The lot of you should be ashamed.

Bleeding Angel 11-09-2007 11:55 AM

Im going to go as hello kitty....scary huh :)

Failing that i will go as a dark angel

null_n_void 11-09-2007 11:58 AM

Yes... very scary...

I'm thinking I might do something as a Vampire....

I please ask that no-one does the vampire hunter thing.....

Bleeding Angel 11-09-2007 12:00 PM

^^ you should go as Dear Daniel .....

null_n_void 11-09-2007 12:01 PM

I see all holidays as pointless and nothing to do with the true meaning.

But a lot of people buy stuff specifically to give out on halloween.

Ashamed of what? Ive never been trick or treating and its more of an american thing.

Here the real meaning is about dressing up and having fun.

Oh and dear daniel is the male version of hello kitty :P

.Like.Breathing. 11-09-2007 12:18 PM

you could go as a gypsey :)

Ash* 11-09-2007 01:07 PM

To whoever moaned about people talking about Halloween when it's not,I was shopping last night when over the tannoy I heard..

"IT'S ONLY 15 WEEKS TO THE DAY TILL CHRISTMAS!"

I nearly fainted.

null_n_void 11-09-2007 01:08 PM

15 weeks until a day in which I'm really, really depressed...

oh joy

IamJamesGreens 11-09-2007 02:23 PM

"and having fun"
Depends on what you call fun. I don't consider cleaning windows at a quarter to midnight fun.

" But a lot of people buy stuff specifically to give out on halloween."
Exactly. What a ****ing waste of cash. Christmas is different - you get stuff bought for you and Easter is only for kids under 13.

I'm sorry you've obviously had to put up witha lot of c**p from some sh**ty people, but halloween isn't all about that. For me it's partying with my friends and having fun dressing up, I don't go trick or treating, haven't since I was about 10 and even then was only allowed to go to the houses of people that I knew.

I know that there are people who spoil the whole thing for everyone, but I don't think anyone on this thread is one of them so maybe take it easy a litte?

As for costumes, I've been a mad scientist (cheap lab coat and lots of ketchup and food dye, vampire (of course), pyromaniac, Cat woman (needed a lot of alcohol before getting into that costume I can tell you), etc. Some of the coolest things I've seen my friends do are zombie, zombie cheerleader and one time my friend made a giant bee and stuck it on a piece of wire coming from his back, so it was always just behind him. Whenever people asked him about it he'd say 'Well what's scarier than being chased by a giant bee?' :-)

Oh my god, I'm sorry, but have you heard what you sound like???!!! Halloween is fun for little kids and there are plenty of people who do up their houses and buy in lots of treats to give out BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DO IT AND IT MAKES THEM HAPPY. If they want to 'waste' their cash on something that makes them and other people happy for a night, who are you to cast a thunderstorm on it? And it's an excuse for older people to get dressed up all silly and have parties and HAVE A GOOD TIME.

And yeah, christmas is different, because ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING. And as for getting stuff bought for you, yeah, so on christmas you buy things for particular people. On halloween you buy things for whoever comes to the door, DOES IT REALLY MATTER? And technically, easter is actually a religious holiday for people of any age, so who the hell are you to put an age limit on that? "Oh, I'm sorry devout catholic woman who wants to celebrate easter, you can't actually, you're not under 13"? pffffft. I'm 21 and I still get easter presents.

Stop being such a misery guts.

DropDead- 11-09-2007 08:14 PM

Haha i never even wear a costume, although i might this year. But i'm 15 now,it's kinda too old to go trick or treating lol.

concrete girl 11-09-2007 08:16 PM

Haha. 15 too old?
*laughs at self*

Belt 11-09-2007 08:16 PM

Well personally I loved being a hobo.

But being a member of the undead never gets old. Especially since you can just buy normal 'street clothes' decorate them with shreds, rips and blood. Which is really cheap and easy but fun to party in.

TheCon 11-09-2007 09:20 PM

'cereal killer'

get an old cereal box, rip it up a bit, cover it in some fake blood, stick on a white shirt, rip it a bit, bit of fake blood on it goes down a treat too. pin it to you somehow.
i did it last year, got a lot of laughs.

BeautyFiend 11-09-2007 09:28 PM

^^
BLESS YOU!
>_<

TheCon 11-09-2007 09:31 PM

shut up. i have skillz.
