Words that you don't like.
I really dislike the word "snack".
How about you? What words do you dislike/find annoy you? |
Clunge, lol.
|
'innit
|
I can not abide the word pussy. It repulses me and it's offensive!!
|
Gash.
Diddums. Probably a lot more. |
Belly.
|
poorly, and cuddle.
|
Baby pronounced bab-be and minge lol
And more. |
Cocck. Or moist.
|
"Wellingtons," as well as "wellies." I cringe every time I hear it, and I do my best to never have to say it.
Also, "irregardless." I don't know if it counts because IT'S NOT A F*CKING WORD but I hear it all the time. |
"Haters" and "swag" are the two on top of my list.
|
'Dyke' coz i just think it sounds so aggressive an 'babygirl' makes me cringe!! x
|
Belly and Quid.
Plus I hate hate hate being called anything like 'duck', 'love', 'sweetie' etc. by somebody I'm not exceedingly close to. |
Lol duck is the town in which we say it to literally anyone
I dont like dyke i also will not say vagina out loud just dislike that word |
'Amazing' is my top one... it's just so overused, seriously! Find another word to describe how 'fascinating' something is, otherwise it doesn't seem so special anymore!!!
Also, 'swag.' |
I hate:
Nude. Toot. Stink. And one other one that I hate so much I won't even type it. Also, this girl at my work always says, "Cool Beans!" and I hate that so much!!! |
Okies. Unless you're genuinely a six-year-old girl, don't say "okies."
I'm not a big fan of "awesome" either, which has inexplicably taken off in Ireland over the last 5 year. I admit I use it fairly often, but I miss the days when things weren't "totally awesome," they were "f*ckin' savage." |
The word FRAPE pisses me off, like seriously annoys me!
Arghhh. |
Poorly
|
Happy-medium.
Smorgasbord. Trending - as in to do with Twitter. All I hear on the news now is "oh so-and-so is currently trending on Twitter." DIE!!!!!!!!!! Draconian. Property - when used in context of houses. On those stupid BBC1 daytime programmes. Product - as in "I need some product for my hair." Eugh. |
On the subject of annoying phrases from ads: "Consolidate all your X's into one easy, affordable Y!"
|
Speaking of adverts, I hate the Direct Line advert where the woman is rearranging the furniture because the 'feng shui's all wrong'.
I also don't like the word 'seepage'. |
omg yes!! ^^^ really wanna poke that woman in the eye!
|
I hate the word; crumple.
Hate. Hate. Hate. It's such a horrible word. |
Bully. Bullying is a serious issue, but the word is unbelievably silly. The one thing that has always prevented me from calling someone a bully is self-consciousness over having to say the word with a straight face.
|
"Swingeing" [cf newspapers when the Budget was set in October].
Yes, it IS a word, I found eventually in Google. But it's a nasty word and I don't like it! When they call redundancy 'the axe' that gets my goat, too. There're a bunch of other words I don't like, but it could provoke controversy, so I'll keep schtum. |
*Is curious as to what Katie's controversial words are!*
I hate 'height', and everything that rhymes with it, because I find them very difficult to spell. Also, the 'c' word. And people calling me 'dear' Oh, and it's not a word, but 'x's at the end of messages really offend me... |
Any and all lolspeak. It's bad enough when written (except on 4chan, where for some reason it's tolerable), but when spoken out loud it makes me want to kill something. If I say something funny, don't say "ell oh ell," just f*cking LAUGH!
|
I'm going to say 'bubba' *cringe*
I have people on facebook who have children and they update their status every 5 minutes with 'awww, my ickle bubba is so sweet, he just rolled over, he's so clever' erm, no, actually all kids do that. Even worse is when they are actually talking about their boyfriends! |
Sorry 15 Dollar Eagle, I'm one of the worst perpetrators for saying lol as part of normal conversation...
|
Oh and I hate pubes.
|
^ *giggles*
|
I hate it when people use the word 'like' countless times in a sentence. Such as,
"and I was like..." "and they were like..." "and like..." "it was like..." I don't know if that is just where I'm from. |

Oops, sorry Shine and Sigaoo.
I bet there are loads of things I say that irritate people. Disappear, I also hate "the feng shui is all wrong" advert. As soon as it appears on telly I get so annoyed and quickly turn it over. |

Crusty, ooze, moist...ugh ugh ugh. Any and all words for vagina (except the word vagina...it's quite fun to say :P) i.e. fanny, c***, clunge, pussy etc. I don't like distribution or retribution because I can't say them :P I also can't say revision session. |
The words I dislike are; sorry, hate, and delay.
|
mines mum (nothing personal just hate my mother)
|
I don't like the word "Pathetic" ..
|
I hate borrow. In the context of, "Can you borrow me that pen?" Urgh no, but I'll *lend* it to you.
|
Fanny i utterly hate it always have
Crusty and crumple like others have said ewww and the phrase 'i suppose' and 'you little sh*t' Also anything where people who arent american try to use the american accent..badly Jedward are a good example they never talked like that at first its just developed with fame [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=towjqkOixis&NR=1"]YouTube - ‪Money Supermarket Advert - Jedward‬‏[/ame] I hear loads of kids talking with that stupid accent.. it pisses me off! Just use you're own goddamn accent! |
^ That was actually a very informative ad, thank you! I know what you mean about faking the American accent though.
I hate the term 'motherf*cker'. I mean, if people actually thought for a moment about what they were saying! |
HATE the phrase "your mom" my god, its the fist response a teen gives before actually answering the question.
Cant stand any word that has to deal with (how to word this) .... s*xual reproduction crap. The word like, um, and and when somebody talks and use it before almost every word. Very annoying! |

The word brang!
IT ISN'T A WORD! Brought is ! |
moist
squelch |
oh oh brap i hate it
|
Vagina
|
When it's said in a certain way, 'excuse me' sets my teeth on edge.
I hate 'bird' when it's used about a girl/woman. Okey dokey Potter (the verb, not the character.) Penile |
