hey people can any of you give me a list on self injury songs please preferably slow ones xx

i can only think of one song about SI atm, its called 'the way she feels' by Between the Trees.
its kind of slow..some of it..
its really good though =]

Bad Habit by the Dresden Dolls. Its not a slow one, but it's good.

There's a few more but I can't think of them right now. I know Hawthorne Heights and Senses Fail refer to SI in a few of their songs, but they're not slow at all...

hurts is about drugs but it is very very adaptable to self harm... breathe me is a really good one. i cant think of any slow ones right now but ill have a look.

Delicate Cutters by Throwing Muses is one

Roses in the Hospital by MSP has lyrics like 'stub cigarettes out on my arm', Die in the Summertime by MSP has lyrics like 'scratch my leg with a rusty nail, sadly it heals'. Alot of their songs from their first 3 albums reference self harm and anorexia.
Although I wouldn't recommend if you're not in a safe mindset.

Songs can be triggering as well as helpful too..

They do write great songs. I'd not gone off them, but I'd been into other stuff for about a year and now I've gone back fully to them and I appreciate it even more now. I've been listening to them since I was 2 for god's sake! lol. Scary :blink: We need to liven up the manics thread actually

Well, I can think of quite a few songs about SI, but... if I try to think of slow songs, the list suddenly becomes much shorter...
What I can think of right now is:

Children of Bodom-Everytime I die (not excactly about SI, but I think it still kind of fits. Also not really slow (at least not what an average person would call slow))

Richey Edwards, the lead singer used to self harm and have an eating disorder untill he disappeared. (If he is alive then he may or may not still have them).

In an interview with NME (i think) he managed to freak out the interviewer and thus was spawned the classic image of him.

But yeah. Thats why the first albums reference suicide, self harm and anorexia so much.

He wasn't the lead singer, he was the rhythm guitarist, although he couldn't actually play. And yeah it was in an interview with Steve Lamacq of the NME when Richey cut '4REAL' into his arm. He's my siggy, although not for the SI links, they're separate matters.

Oh yes.

My Black Dahlia by Hollywood Undead is an excellent song. I love it, which is weird, cos it's not really my type of music at all.

Has anyone said "Numb" by linkin park? "Razorblade" by the Strokes isn't really about SH, but it's a good song: "The world is in your hand or at your throat." Between the trees "The Way she feels" is great, the music video is excellent, as is the one for "Numb".

I found the video of the song of Between The Trees which someone mentioned here.
I haven´t known the song and the video before but I guess that it would be good to say that the video is very graphic and triggering.

Action Action has a pretty good song that mentions self injury, but it's not really about that. It starts out kinda slow, but it gets faster and louder, but still kinda mellow. Here are the lyrics:

Also, pretty much everything off of Park's album, "It Won't Snow Where You're Going" is about self injury an being suicidal. I don't recomend it if you're on edge. But I do enjoy it very much. There's also a warning on the cd about the musical content. It's kinda Whiney emo. Probably not quite what you are looking for.
