Worst thing you ever ate

Have you ever had a burger with too much juice, making soggy buns? Blech. That was my dinner tonight (shudder). What is the worst thing you guys have ever eaten?

Doikers 26-04-2010 01:07 PM

Laverbread , it's cooked up , mushed down seaweed and tastes like the sea smells .

Fry 13-05-2010 01:14 PM

Spinach it's so gross, green & tastes absolutely foul! LOL :-)

Buttons. 15-05-2010 03:02 PM

Lots of things, but nuts of any description, peanut butter, marmite and octopus take the biscuit I think.

[Desolation.] 15-05-2010 05:36 PM

Me too, ~Grace~ cannot STAND eggplant!!
I like hummus though. Especially the kind with red bell peppers in it.

Mrs Bungle 21-05-2010 03:49 AM

I'm liking this thread.......it's interesting exactly how much peoples' taste varies.

Can't think of the worst thing I ever ate, but I can't stand celery

Greyscale 21-05-2010 03:55 AM

Hmm. I can't just pick ONE.. but if I had to, probably mushrooms.
Otherwise, the list is bell peppers, most fish, onions, thanksgiving stuffing if it contains onions or other gross things I can't identify, dessert wine (it tastes like.. musty cobwebby things to me), unbreaded chicken, non-deli turkey.. um.. I should stop before I list the majority of foods on the planet xD

jess :) 21-05-2010 09:20 AM

I laughed so much at that.

This will sound weird but... Bananas. The texture makes me throw up everytime I take a bite. Eww.

akita 23-05-2010 02:15 AM

Anchovies.

ebec11 24-05-2010 05:22 AM

I LOVE Hummus, eat it every weekday :)

The worst thing was the salt and vingar rice cakes with mustard and ketchup on them :) It was for a dare, lol :)
The sardine jellybean from the HP Every Flavor jellybeans were pretty nasty too though :)

CheyKizoxie 21-07-2010 04:47 PM

I cannot eat radishes. I tried a few times, even early this year. I just couldn't stand the taste.

Most sweet things I've eaten.
For example, I had a treacle cake last year. Never again. Too sweet.

I stick to savoury things. :]

CheyKizoxie 25-07-2010 02:52 PM

I had a slightly undercooked chicken tetrazini (sp?). it was very icky.

hope.is.overrated 27-07-2010 01:51 AM

dobradinha (i don't know how you say that in english) is the guts of a cow used to make a stew with potatoes...it taste horribly, the smell is so strong and nauseating and it has the texture of a doormat

__T 27-07-2010 02:18 AM

T'was a burger in france, horribly undercooked. It's the only meat dish I have ever spat back out. I absolutely adore my meat, thats how bad it was.

hope.is.overrated 27-07-2010 02:36 AM

shrimps, mushrooms, eggplant, fish (except tuna fish), bull's tongue, pig's paw/nose/ear, turkey stew, gumbo, cucumber (looks like you're chewing glass), pumpkin, yellow carrot, etc

EvilAngel 28-07-2010 10:25 PM

Sponge sandwich with Shampoo filling.

dark faery princess 28-07-2010 10:51 PM

A whole chilli. With the seeds in (didn't know you were supposed to take them out!!). Orrr some weird pinkish meat type stuff that was in a pot in the sushi restaurant. It was raw. tasted of vinegar, and had the worst texture ever.

CheyKizoxie 29-07-2010 01:26 PM

apple filled doughnuts... i really do not like them.

dark faery princess 29-07-2010 01:35 PM

CheyKizoxie 29-07-2010 09:13 PM

my mystery meals i create when I am too lazy to make something partially appetizing... lol! I think the taste reflects just how little I really wanted to cook said meal!

Buttons. 31-07-2010 07:19 PM

Marmite.

Andy Dufresne 03-08-2017 05:37 PM

Tripe

Indigo. 05-11-2018 02:19 PM

^^^ You've got the right idea, pal. I shudder just thinking about it.

Also, escargot.

nonperson 05-11-2018 03:57 PM

Olives.

And some sort of horrific pickled vegetable strips from the chinese buffet that, although looked like it, was most definitely not smoked salmon.

Olives are awful. Was the pickled stuff ginger?

nonperson 05-11-2018 11:38 PM

I think actually it was ginger! I googled after I wrote that. It was like cabbage consistency which is what confused me.

Indigo. 06-11-2018 12:30 AM

Yeah it's a bit like that and very pink. I actually like it, albeit in small quantities because it does have a strong flavour.

nonperson 06-11-2018 01:56 PM

I had a big massive mouthful of the stuff! I quite like ginger normally. =P
