idea of how to stop this pesky volcano ash - add yours!

Fly under it.
Fly over it.

Get more boats!

Build a huge wall around it that redirects the ash away from air pathways.

Everyone stand in a long line across the world and BLOW!

Everyone get their hoovers on blow and redirect the ash.

Zedebee 17-04-2010 06:38 PM

Haha love the idea of the whole world just blowing into the air =)

Instead of blowing it away with the hoover you could suck it up?

ColourExplosion 17-04-2010 06:42 PM

Haha, nice thread :)

Ehm, make a huge lid for the volcano!

I have now got an image of everyone in the world standing in a very long line and blowing this volcano ash away.

Heidi Tiger 17-04-2010 06:57 PM

Water and lots of it!
To stop dust pollution in quarries they spray water as this sticks the ash to the ground. So we need to somehow redirect rain clouds towards the volcano

Gone. 17-04-2010 07:00 PM

Or get a very big hose :)

ColourExplosion 17-04-2010 07:05 PM

Or multiple large hoses! :)

MissAnonymous 17-04-2010 07:35 PM

I was gonna say vacuum cleaners, but to suck it up!! Dammit.

*Is stuck*

We need massive air filters.

__T 17-04-2010 07:41 PM

Wish this guy was real, he would break it up into manageable sizes

Put loads of hoovers onto the wings of planes, turn them on and suck up that cloud.

or build several giant mops and clean the sky with them.

Isoverity 17-04-2010 08:06 PM

Marmite - give it a taste and it will close it's mouth.

Stellata 17-04-2010 08:14 PM

Or feed it with cookies. It might then smile and curl up and go to sleep.
Or a heavy dose of Valium?
Hmm.

Serenade 17-04-2010 08:58 PM

Maybe we should throw a pokéball up in the air a couple ten thousand feet, it might be an undiscovered legendary pokémon we have to battle that was awakened randomly from the volcano, it wouldn't be the most bizarre and desperate creature there's even been. Even if it isn't that, we can use a wind attack move and blow it to Russia.

Ah Jack, you make me laugh sometimes. :)

Of course, if your plan didn't work, half of Europe would be covered with a yummy Marmitey cloud muahahahaha! :hop:

PrincessVegeta_x 18-04-2010 01:09 AM

Hmm, all good ideas xD

I'm worried that I won't be able to go on holiday in May. It's really upsetting as well, plus Italy is the ONLY place in Europe not covered or in danger of being covered by ash!
=[

xADAMx 18-04-2010 01:21 AM

Just throw a damp tea towel over it. Or... bomb Iceland.

I'm seriously pissed off by it all - I'm supposed to be flying out to Spain on Tuesday!

would you rather your planes engines sucked up all this volcanic ash and glass and stop working?
studies have shown that no engines seriously affects your planes ability to fly. Which coincidently has a detrimental effect on your ability to live. :-p

The truth is I actually like Marmite. I'm not sure I would want to be smothered in a Marmite cloud though lol.

Shadowsaurus 18-04-2010 04:02 PM

I'm thinking we should all get our hoovers! I want my 14 year old brother back! He's in Cyprus with his girlfriend & family and he is supposed to be home now!! It's his birthday soon too! And the earliest they will get home is next Saturday apparently :(

xXMessedUpXx 18-04-2010 11:36 PM

+

that should do the trick

This whole event is a timely reminder that we humans, for all our clever modern inventions, still count for nothing when measured against the forces of nature. Some scientists are warning that this could go on for months. If it does then a lot of airlines are going to go bust - and before then we'll see pressure from them for the air traffic controllers and other authorities to "stop over-reacting" and let the aircraft fly.

Personally, however it pans out, I'm not flying anywhere until I know that a good few dozen aircraft have already flown on my particular route without incident. Modern airliners can glide without engine power - a bit like a brick - but they've no choice but to glide into a hillside or jungle or wherever, at something like 200 mph. This is an advanced form of Russian Roulette.

Some of the profiteering at the expense of those stranded has been disgraceful and has shown the worst side of human nature/greed.

And a final thought: if the entire population of Iceland and of the whole of Europe could somehow be assembled to pee simultaneously into the crater, all it would do is to create a noxious cloud of steam! It certainly wouldn't have the slightest effect on the volcano.

Tony.

A blower should work.

Asura 19-04-2010 05:41 AM

Force the ash cloud to watch Lopez Tonight or Adam Sandler's films on the tele. It will move on faster than you can say "Aaaahh my ears are bleeding!"

The Fantastical 19-04-2010 11:34 AM

Apparently if Justin Bieber is sacrificed all will be okay again.

Haha.

Feel_Good_inc. 19-04-2010 12:12 PM

we all hold tv screens up toward the sky. those things attract dust like magnets.

Piper 19-04-2010 01:42 PM

send lots of dust mites up to eat it!

Feel_Good_inc. 19-04-2010 02:27 PM

dust mites don't eat dust, they just live in it.

what we need to a giant damp cloth to wipe everything clear.

Asura 22-04-2010 08:32 AM

Took me a second to figure out it's a joke. Palin is such a retard that I would fully expect her to say stuff like this.

88shelz 22-04-2010 03:15 PM

i think an extra big fan to blow it away should work

EpicFailGirl 22-04-2010 05:09 PM

um... *thinks hard* maybe, we could all go by boat, and submarine =D

or get my friend up there with a duster XD she likes to clean. some aero-vehicle that flies with a different method for her to stand on XD
