You just had a baby. Its stressful, tiring, exillerating and amazing and scary and OMG and just.............

Perhaps its nerves. Heightened senses towards your baby. The slightest noise and you interpret it as something else.

I bet you are exhausted too and this can play tricks on your mind.

Perhaps the mums can help.

Be good

if it helps, i went thru the same....and also heard (i SWORE i did!!) , her choking, coughing awould run to check. It eased as i got used to her and used to this enormous job i had taken on.

Its very overwhelming the fact that YOU created a LIFE....

it DOES get better and less scary
pm anytime ok???

i went through the same and I would wake up and think that she was in bed with me when she was in the other room with her dad and then I was convinced she'd been taken...
I think it was just total exhaustion in the first few weeks and as Romp says it is overwhelmiong but will get easier

It can echo, you are highly attuned to his cries, and hold that sound in your mind..
I know I had that a lot when my flatmates' baby was very young [and he's not even my own, lol!]
I know for me it's because of my own early stuff, from when I was a baby and left to cry in the SCBU. Crying sets of echoes in my head.
