do you have something that you apply special meaning to? i mean like someone who has their blanket from when they were a kid??
my sister (who is 26) has a teddy bear that goes everywhere with her.
i use the same coffee cup every morning.
and i have a key ring that i always have with me.
the reason i ask?? recently i broke the cup... and it was kinda ok - i was sad but have replaced it very quickly... i am fickle when it comes to coffee.
just now i also broke the key ring... i am slightly in (huge, vomit inducing) shock... i was given the key ring by the first woman i ever came out to... it doesn't sound like much but there is huge meaning behind it and she had it engraved etc etc. I have used it for the last 8 years. i think it is irreparable - it is a spring twisty joint thing that has broken.
i need someone to lift me up and hug me and tell me it will be ok. i also need someone to laugh at me and tell me not to make such fuss over a key ring.
at the same time.
so - make me feel like not so much of a loon and tell me you have "special" things too and what would you do if they were suddenly not in your life anymore.

I broke a necklace that my nan had given me and it shattered me. I totaly understand. BUT instead of goin OH NOES! Take it into a jewler and ask is there anything they can do to fix it? Or is there a way to make it into a pendant or something? You can still keep it :)

i have loads of things i attach meaning to.
right now im wearing a bracelet someone i love gave me and i always wear it to my exams (like tomorrow) for good luck.
jess is right, can you turn it into something else that you can keep with you?
Oh no!! Take it to a jewellers or somewhere they might be able to fix it...
I have lots of things - I have a (new) necklace that my wife gave me that is something I will never take off and a couple of Rocks...weird but true.

I have a teddy that i would be devestated if something happened to! I agree with the others on this thread, take it to the jewlers and see if it can be made into a pendant or something *massive hugs*

God, I have so many things.
I have a ring that I wear on my right thumb permanently, that my best friend in the world ever ever gave to me, like, well over a year ago. I cried when I dyed my hair and forgot to take the ring off and it tarnished, but luckily I got it sorted.
I also have a sleep-suit from the same person, that he gave me to 'tect me from the monsters in my sleep, and sometimes snuggling up in it is the only thing that makes me feel safe at night, & some other stuff from the same person. [Basically I just go around stealing his clothes].
If I ever lost, or damaged, or whatever, any of them, I'd be totally devastated.
I always have my first tea in the morning out of my Scooby-Do mug, wot was bought back all the way from Australia for me too, and I'd be really sad if that ever broke [although if the handle broke off I'd use the actual mug bit as a pen holder].
I have a lucky necklace that I've worn since I was about 8 [it has a dolphin on it], and it's more of a sentimental value thing than anything for "luck" now.
I have 3 toys that I actually love to bits - there's Trunky, Pink-Ted and Russ [who is now being looked after by the afore mentioned friend].
Basically, a lot of things have a lot of sentimental value to me. I keep train tickets for years, because I can't bear to throw them away too!

Thanks! I like being special!
I used tohave a pair of lucky pants (underpants) They were totally falling apart and pretty awful but i used to wear them when i went out as a single man and i would usually pull if i had them on.
The only problem was if the girl decided to either take me back to hers or come back to mine >.< I would either have to remove the pants with my jeans/trousers so they wouldnt be seen or rush upstairs to my room, change into some non hole filled ones and run backdownstairs again trying to look unflustered.
I dont know where those lucky pants are anymore. :(

It's sods law, innit. The worse underwear you're wearing, the more likely you are to pull.

I have my teddy bears, especially Dude, and I would be devestated if anything happened to them. Thats why the dog stays out of my bedroom. But i would also be devestated if anything happened to Chelsea as i already love her to bits (i was sat on the floor with her on my lap early, trousers now covered in hair but who cares)

I'm 26 and still have Orange Ted who I have had since I was born. He is actually yellow, well the fur that remains is yellow. When I lived in LA temporarily (for 7 months) he had to travel with me in my hand luggage as he way too precious to go in the hold - it was slightly embarrassing having my hand luggage searched though :whistling: as I was 21 at the time
