This is a rare occurence! I'm off work now until Monday.
My GP suggested I do something interesting on Saturday, maybe watch a DVD or such...
I want to do something special, but
It has to be on my own - my friend's busy this weekend, and I don't feel stable enough to be around my parents.
I'm feeling really vulnerable.
I get anxious around lots of people, and tube travel stresses me out for that reason.
I am having to watch my spending carefully.Any ideas?
Including any ideas of good DVDs that aren't overly romantic, violent, or upsetting in anyway?
Thanks.
Katie
PS. I do need hugs right now. Please.

Cook yourself something lovely, whatever your favourite food is, or order yourself a take-away. Why not treat yourself to some nice bath-salts and have a hot bath and just relax.

((hugs))
I suggest a Paddington Bear DVD from the library, or Howls moving castle .
Try the smoothie shower gel from radox, its really really nice.

Im a horror fan myself so i cant really help you out dvd wise but sometimes it is nice to treat yourself to some icecream or take away along with a film, just makes it a night for you, to treat yourself.
I am here if you need to speak xx

Do you like watching comedy films? You definitely deserve a laugh; Mr Bean's Holiday  it's one of the very few comedies that I actually like. Are there any books that you'd like to read? What's making you feel yuck? I really hope you have a nice weekend.

The Paddington Bear DVD idea is really good. A hot bath is always nice. You could really bad and have takeaway whilst in the bath - does take a bit of practice :-D .
What is making you feel so yuck?
Hope you find something good to watch at Tesco.
Have a great weekend!

Yuck = work stress/changes, dissociative stuff, tiredness and general blah.
I got 'Happy Feet' and 'Phantom of the Opera' on DVD. And a pizza and a chocolate mousse sundae. And some of the radox shower gel stuff. That's me set for tomorrow. :)
Books I have in the plenty!

Thanks. :)
I felt really really low when I got up, but I had a long shower and that helped a bit.
In a while I'm going to cook my pizza and watch Happy Feet!

I practically cried at Happy Feet. How sad is that?!
The pizza was delicious though, and I'm feeling fairly calm right now.

Hi Katie, sorry to hear you are having such a tough time of late. When I read your posts and replies I am always struck with how wise you are and how impressive it is that you are throwing yourself into your recovery. If you aren't ready to go back to work tomorrow, that is fine you know. You should wait til you are ready.
How are you feeling this evening?
Stellata
05-10-2008, 07:55 PM
Thank you... :)
I wasn't off work sick, although I did need the break from the stress and such. I don't work Fridays or Sundays anyway, I just had yesterday off work.
I'm doing better this evening, and all the more so from having quite a big dinner.

I'm feeling really nervous, churned up and exhausted...
I woke up every hour last night needing the loo. I couldn't settle..
Dinner last night was quorn and mushroom pie.

Its amazing how much therapy can take out of you. No one here understands why i fall asleep as soon as i get home on thursdays. Its like "but you just sit there and talk, how can that be tiring"
Thank god for this place where people can understand.
Hope you have a good sleep. :)
Stellata
08-10-2008, 07:26 PM
Thanks. :)
Yes. I had a good nap when I got in from therapy this afternoon. The rate I'm going I'll be asleep by 9ish tonight. This recovery thing takes a lot of energy... in time it will balance out and the energy will be available to me..
I'm learning to take proper care of myself, and it's well complex. The things I never learnt..

it'll take a bit of time to settle in, you were so stressed about it that you've given yourself amonths worth of anxiety in a few days! now you need lots of rest to get better :)
