I just wondered if anyone knows - I havent lightened my blonde and dyed the underneath at the same time before (when I used to have it done before we actually had sun in the summer and the sun lightened it for me) should i put the blonde on top and the purple on the bottom at the same time and use some conditioner on the divide to help stop them mixing n like pin the top up, of do them seperately? n if so which way round? =S

Okay I've decided to lighten the shade of my hair as its a quite dark blonde atm and go back to being two-tone blonde on top, diff colour on bottom- I just cant pick waht colour someone help!

First the blondes-
Platinum blonde OR Ice blonde

Then underneath -

Blue OR Black

Violet OR Purple

Just a warning that sometimes platnium blonde can have a reddish tint to it depending on your natural hair shades

Hey thanks for the advice, I should be OK cos my natural shades of blonde are more silvery than golden, and the ice blonde (the one I picked) is slightly darker than the platinum so hopefully that will help too.

mmmm the only prob i can see is the darker colour makes the water rundark for a few washes after you dye it. I have black hair which i dye with live black/blue and once i had red and blond extentions in and they went really weirdly coloured cos everytime i washed my newly black hair it dyed the blond and red. does that make sence???

yeah i know what you mean, i've dyed the underneath of my hair with the live blue-black before and when it ran in the wash before it never affected the blonde
that was after a few washes, but i hadnt lightened the blonde there.

That one's 4 years old now (aargh how could it be so long ago!)
My hairs short and all blonde now :( see avatar - only it never looks like that because it never stays straight, its always in a ponytail cos it also wont curl at this legnth (even tho my hairs naturally curly) and isnt long enough to put in pigs tails lol

You need to do the two seperate. I would do the purple first and then use some cling film and a hair bobble to cover the purple while you do the blonde. Otherwise the purple will run into the blonde and will stain it. (I( have blonde and pink and had this trouble)

you could use the blonde all over, i once did blonde and black and ended up with a patch in the middle that i managed to miss with both colours, so i went light blonde, dark blonde, back lol. if you did the blonde all over it would stop you getting that, then tie the blonde up on top of your head in in bun and get someone else to paint the other colour onto the bottom, starting about an inch below the horizontal parting, so the darker colour doesn't bleed into the top part.

to wash it, split your hair first, tie the bottom colour in a ponytail, wash the top half over your face, then tie up, release the bottom half and wash then re-tie. put an old towel over so it doesn't matter if the colour bleeds a bit.

it look lovely! Is it just me that my black dye runs out in the water for like 2 weeks after loads of scubbing? I want to have coloured streaks but they always go muddy looking after i wash it so i gave up with it :(

The water always runs a with colour with me too but it doesnt affect the rest of my hair, I'm lucky that when I've dyed my hair it stays where it should be lol

Misunderstood.
