I have an interview for a day care job tomorrow but i'm not sure if I should take the job if I am offered it. My ideal job right now would be an assistant psychologist and two assistant psychologist posts have become available within two different organisations, so that's four chances that I have of getting a job. The thing is, I have applied for assistant psychologist positions before and haven't even been asked for an interview.

I don't know if I should take the day care job if i'm offered it and then quit if I get an assistant psychologist post or if I shouldn't take the job. But then if I don't get an assistant post i'll have no job at all except for a support assistant job that I have now which provides me with 2 and a half hours of work a week.

I don't know what to do!

I don't really want the day care job and I'm also worried that i'll struggle with working full time. Both of the jobs would be full time. I want to be able to move forward with work like so many other people are able to.

Any thoughts?

In the position of being unemployed. I would take the job if it's offered to you. Working full time scared me aswell cause I didn't think i could do it and it may be hard for a few weeks until you get into a routine but aslong as you use your days off for resting up you can do it.

If the care job is offered to you then take it cause, it's experience. Then you can apply for the other posts aswell. It's easier to get a new job when your already in a job.
And then if you don't get an interview this time round, atleast you still have a job.

Good luck with both.

Take the job that is available and if you get one of the others, let the supervisors at the first job let them know that that job just didn't work out!

How would you survive financially if you only had your current 2 and a half hours per week?

Me personally, I'd apply to the assistant psychologist jobs and reject the day care one. If psychology is really the career you want to go into then it's worth taking a gamble on those jobs, just so long as you can survive if you don't get one of them. Also even if you don't get offered the job this time, if you put forward a good cv and then hopefully get asked to interview and make a good impression, then the company would already have a positive impression of you in future if anymore jobs came up.
