Well Rusty and I have been planning to get a dog anyway, but at the moment my depression is pretty awful and I need motivation to get up and about every day.

Last year my parents adopted Tyson (staffy x pony!) and he did wonders for me, so tomorrow we are hopefully going to look at collie puppies. We have looked round the rehoming centres nearby but haven't seen the right dog, so we're going to look at these collies.

I'll be home with the dog all day since I can't work, and we're very lucky with havaing a huge park at the bottom of the road, and the peak district in easy driving distance.

I'm very, very, very excited!

:hop: :woot: :hop: :woot: :hop:

Go You.

I will also be getting a dog as soon as I am able to walk it. A pet can be so rewarding. Hope you manage to find the right one.

Sometimes we call our pets our "fur children." We have a cat who is 5 days short of 19 years and we absolutely cherish him.
I'll be looking forward to hearing about the newest member of your family!

We're going to see the puppies this evening - they're having their vet check today and wont be back til 7 but the man said if I ring him to check he's back I'm welcome to go see them.

Rusty has said that if there's one (I have to narrow it down to ONE!!) that's the right one for me then he'll put a deposit on it. We're away this weekend and I think it would be confusing for the pup to be moved about on its first weekend so we'll pick him up next week.

Expect lots of photos! The world's a bit scary at the moment so I'm concentrating on the puppy :)

My fiance got me a puppy when I was feeling low and it was the best thing he ever did. I've had him 9 months now and he always knows when I'm feeling down and just comes and cuddles with me. It's great :-D

I got a kitten as we don't have the room for a pup... yet! But we're going to get one as soon as we can! They are the best medicine and I know that my old puppy (I had to give him away when I moved :'() saved me many times! He kept me going. Animals are the real healers of us all!

Collies are soooooooooo cute! Though one piece of advice don't pick the one that sits back and doesn't come up to you... they tend to be shy and sometimes aggressive... always get the precocious one (specially if you need motivation) cause they'll get you going and keep you going!!!! :D

PHOOOOOOOOOOTOOOOOOOOS!

:laugh::hehe::laugh::hehe:

We put a deposit on a puppy last night! He had a litter of black and white border collies, and a litter of black & tan australian ones with one brown pup in the second litter.

I knew as soon as I saw them that I wanted one of the aussie ones, and two of them came forward to investigate us - the brown one and a black & tan one.

Rusty put his hand down and the brown one came over, and when I spoke to the puppy he wagged his tail and his ears pricked up so we decided that was the one.

We've put a deposit on him and we're picking him up next tuesday. He's gorgeous - I've got a picture on my phone but I'm at my folks' house so I can't upload it.

He's so lovely though, and he's going to make my days a lot brighter... and busier! :-)
