is it possible to block another user so that they cannot find or read any posts you make?
I have a real life friend who has found me on the site and reads all my posts-some of it i don't want her to know and it removes my anonimity(sp?)

Most certainly,
If you visit :
http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/profile.php?do=editlist
Which can be found in the list of links in your control panel, you can add anyone to your buddy list (they can read your private journals) or your ignore list (they can't see you online, your posts or anything)
Hope that helps :)

cheer Harley. BTW will adding her to my ignore list end her subscription to my journal?

Erm, that isnt something I could say for certain without testing, but I would presume so. You will not exist on RYL for that account once it is done. If you make a post it won't increase the post counts for them, you won't appear on the journal list or the member list, you'll just dissapear as though I had deleted you.
Hope thats what you need, do let me know on the journal thing so I can be sure :)

Hi Harley,
It didn't end her subscription to my journal, so i know she's still reading it....
don't suppose there's any way i can end her subscription to my journal???

just a thought....maybe if you end then restart your journal now that shes ignored it might not let her access it?

Set it to private; only people on your buddy list should be able to see it.

No I do agree that journals should block access to those on your ignore list.
I didnt write the journal part of RYL, it's a commercial product, but again I will look into this and see if a solution can be found which reduces the confusion :)

Liz and Aimee- i would set it to private but that wouldn't achieve anything as she would still see all my entries on the e-mail informing her i have updated my journal.
I found out a lttle while ago, as i am subscribed to a few journals, that i see private entries even when i'm not on their buddy list when i tried to comment on an entry and the computer told me it was a private entry.
Thanks Harley.
How do i end and then re-start my journal (sorry, i'm such a nunchuck when it comes to computers)

Just wondering though that you don't need tobe logged in as an ryl user to read posts so anyone can read them and not be logged in, and therefore they can't be blocked?

Well that depends on the forum... oh and whether the block is linked to their ip address or to the username/number
But a valid point none the less :D
Any comment, Harley?

Also, i don't think the user i wish to block is likely to browse as a guest to try and find posts i have made.
Thanks for all your help guys. I haven't been posting in my journal sinicce i 'tested' to see if she still got it.....i miss my journal....

I just tried blocking one of my accounts from the other, and the user on my ignore list could still see everything except the journal.

So if another user quotes your post in a thread, will they be able to see it then?
