I think it's broken. There are few threads about it, and I believe they're working on it.

And for next time or whatever, questions about the site should go in the "forum and community questions" section - they'll be better answered there.

Yeah, if you had posted in here about it first the auto thread title thing would have told you that there were other threads where people have had the same problem :)

As explained there, the chat software, which has just been upgraded is unable to cope with odd characters in your name. You may use the Request New Username feature in your control panel to temporarily change it, then move it back to the version with stars again after the company have had a chance to sort it out.
