Aripiprazole and Quetiapine

Hi all


I saw my psychiatrist today who has added in Quetiapine. I already take Aripiprazole, so now I'm taking both and Lamotrigine.

Has anyone else taken 2 anti-psychotics? What was your experience?

I'm worried. I don't quite understand why I'm having to take 2. She said I'm not stable but I don't really get what she means.

My CPN is ringing me on Wednesday so I will ask her then I suppose.

I'm on 2 antipsychotics, have been for a long time. Its normal practice when one on it's own isn't working enough. I don't think I've been on your particular concoction.

I've been on a mix of 2/3 antipsychotics at points. One of the times when I was on an antipsychotic that was leading to high prolactin levels I was put on Aripirazole along with it to try to reduce my prolactin levels but I see you were on that first. Definitely ask your CPN, hopefully they will be able to offer you an actual explanation since it sounds like your psychiatrist didn't really answer your question.
