Well here I am, after 14 years of being a cutter, and many many attempts to stop (my longest being a year free but of course knowing it was a year was such a trigger), I'm back at day 1 and I feel like writing it on here will hold me accountable in some way. I'm not sure what I'm looking for but maybe some tips on how to fight the urges?

No tips right now but sounds like an awesome idea and well done you for starting this journey. Will try to come back to this.

IDK I'm lousy at fighting the urges myself. But, distraction often helps and also living close to the near and dear. Meaning physical close to those that you love and that loves you (hope you have that), and that do not know that you still cut. That makes me quite urge free and stops me from doing it, if I get urges. To me, being alone gives bad thoughts and urges a chance to evolve - and I'm really bad at fighting them.
Because I'm too into it I often tries to be by myself.
Not much of a tip, maybe a strategy.
Take care

I found making sure I got enough sleep and not drinking alcohol helped, when I was at my worst going to bed really late was almost a form of SI making me much less able to fight the urges.
Be kind to yourself.
