deleting threads

i was wondering if there is anyway of deleting threads that we started?
Do they get deleted eventually anyway?

If you want to delete your thread, go to edit the first post in your thread, & click the delete option.
It deletes the whole thing.
They dont get deleted unless you do it yourself, I know that from experience.

To prevent old threads being dragged up, 6 months from the time a thread was last replied to, it is closed (excludes stickies).

A mod can override this if nessesary of course.

For the moment, since we have a good server we plan on keeping our past as a record (this new version of RYL is much more compact and can also be expoorted much more easily) but old threads, say after a year might well be pruned, or put into some archive as we don't want to slow down the current RYL just because we are keeping near useless old threads.
