I prefer to say "I'm in recovery" rather than say that I have recovered. For me, recovery is an active process that I will be working on for the rest of my life.
Being in recovery, for me, is being able to function in daily life - seeing friends/family, going to work, sleeping at appropriate times, keeping up with personal care etc. Being happy also a major part of what I consider to be recovery.
I think, if I were to claim to be recovered, it would put a lot of pressure on me to stay that way forever, when realistically that won't happen. I think I might also get a bit complacent if I were to say I was recovered - a lot work goes into staying OK and I might not put that in if I thought everything was in the distant past.
I think there are people out there who consider themselves completely covered, but that line of thought doesn't help me.

When you are coping with daily life and managing your MH symptoms without coping in dangerous/unhealthy ways eg self harm, ODs, drugs, alcohol abuse etc.
Being in recovery/recovered doesn't mean an absence of mental health symptoms, or mean you have to be happy all the time. Those things are not attainable, so it's about learning how to cope with the ups and downs within your life and still be able to function well and do the things you want to do.
