If so how do I go about it?
I found loads for cbt but not dbt. I live in london if that helps.

I'm not sure because DBT proper would also involve group sessions. So odds on you'd need to be involved in a private service rather than with an individual practitioner. However I'm sure you could find a private therapist who gas a good working knowledge of the skills and theory involved.

Can I ask, why, specifically are you after DBT?

Because my psych said it's the best theraphy for me right now but there is a very long waiting list.

I'd personally wait until you reach the top of the waiting list. Any private therapist will be incredibly expensive, and as J said it probably won't involve the group part of DBT which is actually pretty essential.

You could always look at some of the DBT books to gain an idea in the meantime. This website pretty much teaches you the skills. http://www.dbtselfhelp.com/
