Recently I have been feeling low and unmotivated. I took an od recently (I have a separate thread in serious).

Every day I feel rubbish. I feel as though I need a pick me up. I have an appointment with my psych on Tuesday. Should I ask for mood stabilisers or am I on the wrong track?

Mood stabilisers wont pick you up. You'd need an antidepressant for that. You'd be better off seeing your doctor or psychiatrist, telling them how you feel, and let them decide.

Thanks sherlock holmes. Like I said I have a appointment next week so I will see what he says.

Like Sherlock said, mood stabilisers are unlikely to help increase your mood (unless as an adjunct to an existing antidepressant). Tell your psychiatrist all of your symptoms and they will be able to advise.

As has been suggested tell your psychiatrist how you've been feeling and they will work out the best course of action. Hope your appointment goes well *hugs*
