I'm currently on antipsychotics for 'alleged' Schizoaffective disorder and I'm fed up feeling depressed all the damn time and having fleeting thoughts of suicide. I'm getting closer to the edge of doing something and CMHT can't offer me anything. I'm at the end of the road I think.

I'm thinking strongly that I should miss my appointment for the depot clinic next week and in some more weeks see if my mood improves. I'm on CTO so could get recalled but I thinks its worth it because this depression is horrible.

Could you ask to add an anti depressant in stead?

I have the same diagnosis and know i would be a psychotic mess if I came off my anti psychotic that's why my psych added an anti depressant to help with depression caused by other meds.

I think you need to talk to your team about how you feel.

Speak to your CMHT first. If you're on a CTO then missing your depot means you will get chased up about it, and likely taken back to hospital because you've not been compliant.

As Ballerina said it's probably a better idea to ask for an antidepressant that can help lift your mood.

I agree with the others about asking about other medication or maybe a dose change rather than missing your appt.

Do you have anyone to talk to about these thoughts and feelings? Is therapy an option?
