Olanzapine & citalooram affecting periods

I'm on just 5mg olanzapine and 20 mg citalooram. I've been on citalooram since July and before the olanzapine my periods remained perfectly in sync with my cycle.

This makes me inclined to think that it is related to olanzapine maybe? Or perhaps just stress?

But my periods have been late for 2 months running and this month I am 4 days late.

There is no chance I am pregnant because I am in a single sex relationship and have not cheated at all.

Has this happened to anyone else? It's just annoying because I liked knowing when I was due on and if I start missing them then I think that is a bit iffy.

Olanzapine did the same to me but at 20mgs. It can raise prolactin levels and as a result sometimes people miss periods or start to lactate. I guess if you're stressed by the side effect best to talk to who prescribed it.

Is it safe to just ignore it like the other side effects, because I can deal with it, but I'm just wondering if it is a little bit serious because I've never been affected in this way by a medication before.

If it is safe though, then I will just deal with it. Thanks for your reply though.

I assume its safe as my team continued with it despite it raising my prolactin levels. I'm not entirely sure though. If you don't want to speak to who prescribed it you can always pop into a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist any queries and stuff about the medication - normally they are quite nice!

Yeah that's true. I was prescribed it by a duty Dr in 136 suite, so I won't see them again. But I will ask Mr. Pharmacist

Revived really late. Although I will mention it when I see GP next week. I'm going to write a list because I keep forgetting to mention stuff because we get nattering. X
