I just had a bit of a breakdown and I don't know what to do.

Let me first explain that I am really particular about some things, even to an OCD type of extent, but I haven't been diagnosed/talked to a doctor about that so I don't know.

But anyway, I had some laundry in the dryer and my mom had apparently taken it out and laid it out on some old Christmas lights that were on the laundry table.

I do not like my clean laundry to touch anything like that (because it's probably dirty, could have lead in the wire coating, etc.), so I freaked out. I've calmed down some but I hate that I'm probably going to have to rewash it to get rid of my paranoia, and it makes me feel like my accomplishments for the day have dwindled because I have to rewash and basically waste water on what should already be clean laundry.

I really don't know what else to do...

I guess I'm just going to rewash it...I hate wasting water but I won't feel better until I know my clothes are really clean, and I was told that if it makes me feel better then it's not a waste.

Still not feeling that great though...

Hey I'm sorry nobody replied on the day. What did you end up doing?

Do you have any skills to help you try and overcome or sit with your discomfort in these circumstances?
