Ran out of citalopram?

Hi. I ran out of this medication citalopram, and do not have another appointment with the doctor for 2 weeks, as I'm not on a repeat prescription as the doctor is still changing doses (Have been on 20mg for 2 months) the pharmacy wasn't able to fill an order to tide me over until the next appointment.

Is there anything I can do other than go through withdrawal symptoms and wait 2 weeks to see what the doctor will say then?

can you call your gp and ask them to write you a prescription?

Yeah you need to ring you gp, they wouldnt want you to go through withdrawal.

Yeah definitely call your GP for an emergency prescription- trust me, the withdrawal from Citalopram is vile!

I nearly ran out once, I just called my gp surgery and they sorted out an emergency prescription for me to pick up the same day.

I hope you rang up today and managed to get it sorted out. Citalopram withdrawal is so yuk. It took me 3 days of missing it for me to feel absolutely rotten.
