Hi,

I've been having twice weekly psychodynamic therapy for the past year. Over the last 10 years, I've had SSCM (specialist supportive clinical management) CBT, EMDR and CAT. My current therapist (a counselling psychologist) is soon to be going on maternity leave and although she has recommended me another psychodynamic therapists to see me while she's on leave, I've done my own research as well. I have a strong therauptic relationship with my therapist and she's been extremely helpful. I find the therapy really difficult but at times, I do feel a slight relief but I know there's so much work to be done.

I've read a lot of psychotherapists using the humanistic/intergrative/mindfulness as their chosen approach and I was wondering whether people have had experience of this type of therapy and whether it's been helpful?

I suffer with an eating disorder, PTSD, depression, chronic pain and opiate addiction.

Yh i would say my therapist who i saw ages ago used that with me. Trying to get into my mind on how i was feeling. I didnt really pay much attention as i was at my worse and just wanted help.

I dont know if it did help or not. I think the thearpy did help to so me extent but not sure if it made me feel alot better after each session. Im glad there was someone i could talk to though.

I dont have therapy no more but i would recomened it to someone who is willing to put everything on the table. Once u know u have admited to ur feelings ur start to feel that u belong again.

Would try therapy if i had another chance.
