My mental health often goes down hill when I'm stressed in life.
Dose anyone know any good till for stress management?
Please don't say avoid stress because sometimes it just not avoidable (eg university deadlines, people being ill, moving house, ect).

Time managegment - so you plan what you do and when and according to your time.
Being organised and prepared if you have to do things and you therefore can remember.

I agree with organisation. It helps when trying communicate or remember stuff, for example, in my recording book I write important date Like when the police came over or when I received news or letters.
Also being aware of your thoughts and feelings and writing it down may help you to look at triggers an helpful stuff objectively and not crowd recollective memory as that is often unreliable.
Having a support network if you can and talking to people.
And also relaxing stuff that helps you I.e. art, reading, exercise, films whatever and MAKING the time to do that. Even if you squeeze it in on your train journeys or something.
And good sleep routine, and good eating.
I say all of this, and even though I'm struggling, this stuff has helped, which is better than nothing.

Hi Ballerina123
I would agree that the worst thing someone could say would be don't get stressed - I'd be stressed hearing that!
I agree with both replies that time management and organization are most helpful.
I make a list for the next day and at the top of the list will be the most important things I 'should' do (in order to feel worthy lol) if I don't complete the top two I might feel bad.
There are never more than 5 items on the list.
The lower level are just that and a pat on the back if I tackle and complete all of the list. I think its important to reward yourself when you have put the effort in!
I have to go through many rituals just to leave the house so I'm happy if I manage to get out at all.
I try very hard to go swimming weekly and I treat myself to a DE-stressing back massage every month. From a little girl I held all the stress in my neck and shoulders, I still do. As someone approaches me I tense and my shoulders raise straight to my ears and this has lead to chronic lactic acid build-up and pain in the area.
The list must be reasonable and the goals realistic or proportional to the day as obvious failures will ensue.
It is also very important to have at least one day per week when you have NOTHING to do - a free day - or if you're feeling bad, under the weather or plain ill. Write that day off early and don't push yourself until you start to feel guilty about failing to achieve something.
Sending love and light to all :-)
