New meds and inpatient stuff:(

It's been a while since I last posted! Things have gone down hill even more. I have been back in hospital sec 2 for a week now. How I got here was one story but now I'm here it's getting worse. Arrived last wed, duty dr didn't see me. Thurs morning see consultant who wants to but me on meds which I don't want so we leave it open, then places me on 1:1. I did nothing to deserve that, all it did was annoy my ocd (really bad)! Friday still felt physically weak and dizzy developed some chest pain, light headed etc. they ignored it. Sat got worse they did bloods were high but within normal limits. A nurse told me it was anxiety and tried to give me lorazepam! Sunday all I can say what seemed like an incompetent dr came did bloods eventually. She came back later did an ECG was worried about, but wanted to wait for bloods to come. Night duty dr came on straight to see me and sent me straight to A&e!! Fluids overnight, ECG monitoring overnight, more ECGs and an echo. Fundamentally heart is of just the ECG is abnormal because of my ed. Soo brill!
The staff escorting me gave me no privacy while having these tests!
Got off 1:1 tues morning. Back on by Tuesday evening as I was asking for some support , and prn! Now Thursday ward round off 1:1 and hopefully they are finally going to try and get in touch with my ed team.
New med started last night : clomipramine. Anyone found it useful? X

I'm sorry to hear that you are back in hospital. Do the staff know that you are feeling worse?

Sorry I don't have any experience of clomipramine.

Hey darling,
That sounds so difficult and hard to digest. I'm sorry things haven't been great. I did women research that drug you're on is a tricyclic antidepressant that is also really good for ocd. I think I vaguely remember from your previous post some time or another that you have odd - so hopefully it will help.

How do you feel now? How are your palpitations? X

Thanks guys. Was on 1:1 for a week got off it Thursday. Feel free since then! It's really hard as I know I have been close to going back back on it. Got no leave, don't know when I will get any. Dissacociated twice since being here not majorly though. Food is really hard, they have been trying to get hold of my ed team. So I feel really lost being here. Ocd is crazy.
The med is supposed to help with that but I don't think it is.
The ward is crazy. Two old ladies who won't shut up ever, and serveral patients who like shouting and throwing! I just want to get out!

That sounds like a really good goal to aim for right now.

What is it about the food that is making it hard for you? Maybe if you explain to the staff or even to us how it's affecting you perhaps someone maybe able to shed some light to what may help.

Have you mentioned how hard it is for your OCD to the staff? Is there anything to alleviate the symptoms you're showing doing to help your distress. When you were in hospital in the past what has helped for your eating nd ocd then?

Thanks for the replies. Last few days have been pretty rocky, on and off 1:1. And dealing with really dark thoughts. Ocd and food still bad. Saw consultant today even though it wasn't ward round and she wants to change me meds! As the clomipramine apparently is too dangerous if I od on it! So she is changing it to quetiapine. I have leave! And they want me to do overnight leave tomorrow, really scared about that, as me and one of the nurses went to my flat earlier and I freaked out!

Hi Naiomi, how are you feeling today? How Is the new medication? How was leave?

Clomipramine helped a lot for my OCD but I had to come off it due to an interaction between Clomipramine and my psychotic illness. People with psychosis are more likely to go manic on antidepressants. But Clomipramie is good for OCD as it is highly serotonergic.
