Hey Hey,

So I'm on Olazapine & last night, I didn't sleep so well.. Maybe 6 hours, compared to my usual 12 (than you, Olazapine.), Anyway, I had to get up early for the Doctors & now, today, I feel like I haven't slept off the meds - I'm in utter Zombie mode & can't shift this brain fog/dead/numb. I feel like I could stare at a white wall all day & not even care...

Is this normal, if you haven't 'slept off' the meds?

Thanks :)

I've had the same experience just with different meds.
Even with my prn I make sure to only take it if it's at least 12 hrs before I have to get up. If I can't sleep it off it takes some time to wear off. With one AD I tried I felt like that all day especially in the beginning. Get a good night's sleep today most likely you will feel better tomorrow. If not it might be worth it to see a doctor to make sure it's not sth else.

Yes I get this with other medication. If I wake up too early and not slept the meds off I'm a zombie until it wears off.

When I was taking olanzapine the crisis team guy told me to take it about 6pm so that the next morning I wouldnt be zombie like. It did help. Initially you might then feel sedated from 6pm until bed time, but apparently it gets better.

As Sherlock said, try taking it a bit earlier that should help :)

Take it at least 12 hours before you intend to wake up the next morning. You might have to adjust it dependant on how your body reacts but even though I am on a relatively smaller dose of quetiapine [250mg] I will get side effects if I don't sleep or particularly if I sleep for a little while then get up before I have had a good dose of sleep.

Sorry to bump this thread, but since being increased to 5mg, even when I take the meds quite early, & get up with an alarm, I still feel zombied out & like I'm dreaming/on Auto pilot?! All day & now into the evening... Does it ever wear off?, I was really dizzy to start with but that's worn off, thankfully, am hoping this sleepy, like I could stare at paint drying feeling will too?, Maybe I should start taking it at 6pm?! haha!
Just needed a bit of reassurance that I'm not going mad & am actually dreaming this whole day!

I Is to get this on olanzapine. I'm on a higher dose than you but it did ware off after a couple of months.
I do find taking up earlier in the evening helps a lot though as the sedation is out of your systems to some degree by the morning.

Usually those side effects do wear off, and taking it at 6pm may help!

I'm on quetiapine and it seems if I don't get a certain amount of sleep I get similar symptoms and my eyes seem to roll in my head and I find it hard to coordinate myself.
I think taking earlier would be worth a try.
