I've been having a rough time lately both mentally and physically which has resulted in a couple of ip stays and then a couple of hospital stays for unrelated health issues. I saw my psych medications person today and told her how I have a hard time getting myself to take the prn medications I'm given (klonopin and Zyprexa) so she decided to make the Zyprexa an every night thing and increased the dose to try to help with the disconnected feeling I've been having, dissociation and flashbacks I've been struggling with. I think she's also hoping it will help with the self harm issues I've been having lately and my inability to sleep (I am also currently on prednisone which is making this far worse)

Have any of you had any good success with Zyprexa in regard to any of these things? She also put me on metformin to try and counteract the weight gain part of the medication (I have an eating disorder so she tries very hard to help me avoid that side effect if possible). If so, how long did it take before you started to feel results? I also take Lamictal and Luvox

I don't know about either of those, but I hope someone replies soon. I think those are all brand names (we don't have them here). Do you know what the generic names are?

I took zyprexa (olanzapine) for feeling agitated and self harm urges. It did help me with sleep as it made me feel sedated, but I think I am quite receptive to medications and I seem to get a benefit from a very low dose!
