After having been on zopiclone 7.5mg for about 12 weeks, and duloxetine 60mg for a similar time my doctor stopped them on Wednesday. I started on temazepam that night instead of zopiclone.
Yesterday I felt appalling, like really really bad. Very weak, drowsy, clammy, hot/cold, mentally detached etc
Today I really don't feel much better so far.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how long it's likely to last? I know I get zopiclone withdrawals from when I previously stopped it for a day.. But how long does it last?
I took another the night of the withdrawals so I don't know how it would have lasted.
Just wanted an idea so I know when to expect this to go!! It's unbearable really.

I dont know with these specific meds but i stopped my meds cold turkey in the beginning of december and had the same symptoms. They lasted for about a week, then they went away on their own. It was horrible while they lasted but i dont have any advice other than stay strong, it does go away. You just have to be patient really.
I know it sucks though. Why were you taken off them? And have you an alternative to them or how does it work?

A week?! :crying:
Neither were working really. Zopiclone was for sleep, I have that one replaced. Just wasn't sleeping that well, it was negatively affecting my mood etc so changing was for the best.
Dulox just wasn't doing anything, instead of replacing he's referred me to a rheumatologist... Which I guess means nothing for a while until I get the referral through. Was mainly for pain and stuff.

Surely they should taper?

I'm not sure why they didn't
I called a pharmacist in the end, I wasn't sure if my heart was being funny, although I didn't mention that. I just asked if there was something I should do with the meds.. Like stop the new or add back an old. He told me that really should not be feeling like that but couldn't really help. So I called 111 and they got a GP to call me who send me to an emergency out of hours doctors
He was really lovely and helpful. The outcome was that he took me off temaz and put me back on zopiclone at half a tablet
Fingers crossed!
Not awake enough to know how I am yet but I slept better thankfully

I'm on duloxetine and I know from experience the withdrawal effects are horrendous. Zappy head, nausea, dizziness.
