what do i do?

i have gotten really close with my CPN's, im attatched to them in a way, i had to deal with losing one of them to go on maternity leave but it wasnt as bad because i had another one to fall back on, but now my other CPN is leaving to go work as a band 6 sister, so i will have to get used to someone else.

has anyone else been allocated an new professional worker?
how did you cope with seeing someone new, also, should i get my leaving CPn a gift of some sorts, what would be okay to get her?

thank you x

I've had to cope with this and it is very hard. I'm not sure what to advise you, but I do understand.

I haven't any experience with this, but I'm sorry to hear it's causing you so much upset. Will you be able to 'tie things up' with her before she leaves, ready to handover to the next person?

Maybe you can talk to her about your concerns, she might be able to reassure you that your next CPN will be as caring etc.
Think about what made you able to work with this CPN and what helped you to connect with her after the other one left. Maybe you can utilize it to make things work with your new CPN. Remember that you managed to get used to the change once and that there is really no reason why you shouldn't be able to do it again.

That's great that your new CPN will be somebody you already know and feel comfortable with. Wishing you the best of luck for the change over <3

Having someone you know should help you deal with the initial separation.

I have had my CC go on long term sick leave several times and it is difficult getting used to someone else but I have found that they work with me to deal with that in the best way possible.
