Hi there, I have bpd, depression and anxiety. and may either be going to pelham woods or the cassel hospital. I was wondering if the cassel hospital do DBT or what therapy they provide? I am curious as to people's experiences as well as in quite scared about going there. Also do they let you take your medication? Or do they take you off it as I think I will get a lot worse without it and my behaviours will increase?

Thank you guys!

I nearly went to the Cassel at one point.

As far as I can remember they have a DBT type approach. Its a therapeutic community so there are lots of group sessions and you're expected to take a lot of responsibility for yourself.

Re medication I think with going into any hospital they will take your medication from you and keep it in the clinic and a nurse will give it to you at the appropriate times. Usually if you show you are trustworthy medication then after a period of time they allow you to keep it in a safe in your room to self administer, but I don't think they allow you to administer PRN (as needed meds) only regular prescriptions.

Usually your psychiatrist will decide what happens regarding your meds.

Hi. I was an inpatient at the Cassel. I got discharged a year ago. It was the best place I have been to. They do a mixture of therapy. 2 individual a week and 2 group a week. Plus movement therapy, daily meetings every morning and Psych-education.

There is a lot of responsibility on you to take part in community life. All patents are part of each other's care and recovery.

When I first went there I hated it. I mean it was awful. But I stuck with it and it was amazing. The nurses there are great they all have different styles but they want the best for you.

Medication at first will be dispatched from the clinic room after a while when you are ready and the team there trust you you begin to self medicate. Basically you have a looker in your room to keep your medication. In the looker.

Each person has there own room with shared toilet and showers and bathrooms.

You have to do a half hour work group everyday after community meeting. This ranges from washing up, hoovering, to pantry this is organising food and budgeting.
