TalkTalk - blocking RYL?

So today RYL suddenly went out. I've tried multiple computers and browsers (within the same household/IP address) and none of them can access RYL. All other sites are working fine. I've switched to tethering off my phone and now its up, but I wondered if this is a localised issue or if there's a problem with TalkTalk/RYL.

Why would talk talk block it? Bit odd :s

I dont know but I've tried several computers in this house, and different browsers and they all can't open RYL. I turned my phone tethering on and I can access RYL again. I can only think it has something to do with talktalk/the rooter.

Hi talaiporia,

This can be caused by our firewalls having mistakenly detected malicious activity from your IP address. Please can you PM me your current IP address (you can Google "What's my IP" from one of the computers you can't currently access RYL from).

I reset the rooter and now its fine!

Hi Sophia (sorry didn't realise it was you in my previous post!).

I actually spotted a TalkTalk IP on our blocklists and I have removed this, so it may have been the cause! Very sorry for any inconvenience there! We are seeing an awful lot of malicious activity hitting RYL just at the moment and it is very difficult to keep out the bad guys and ensure that no one innocent gets blocked inadvertently.

I've just spotted an old PM from you regarding LH and other things which I'm looking into now for you. I should have a reply to you shortly.

Thank you. :) The IPs in this area are a bit weird as its rural but at least its working now. :)

My parents use talk talk and they have been fine. Never had a problem posting here.

Was going to mention that I've made a post in gen chat about certain IP providers having these pornography filters that actually can block forums and eating disorder related websites, so RYL could potentially be blocked if you opt in to the adult/pornography filters.

Aye, was wondering too what was being done about this - particularly as most (if not all?) UK internet providers are bringing the filter in.
