I am not sure if this site can help me. I am looking for a way to quiet the thoughts about self harm. I do not have suicidal thoughts very often and when I do they pass quickly. I have not self harmed in a a few months. My lesbian GF told me about this site when she saw my self harm marks and scars. These thoughts happen so often that they are just part of ever day life for me. I have caught myself passively looking for something sharp to self harm with. I gave all of my self harming tools to my GF when she saw my old scars and I have not gone out and bought something new to SH with.
Again I am not sure if I am at the point that I am ready to give up all together on SH. It is actively on my mind a lot.

I think this site is for you, but this thread might be better suited in Self Injury discussion. I am sorry to hear what has been going on recently, but I hope RYL gives you the help and support you need to leave self harm being once and for all. It's worth taking a look at the Self Harm Information Package (http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78559) as it's filled with helpful advice. :)

Hey there,
This site should be perfect for you, nobody is ever turned away it is totally fine to ask for advice with anything- self-harm related or not. There are numerous forums and subforums to offer advice with anything from suicidal thoughts to relationship/family/everyday issues. It might seem a little overwhelming at first but everyone is really friendly so don't be afraid to post <3
As talaiporia suggested, go ahead and make a thread on the self-injury forum (http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29). You'll find there is actually a lot of people here like you who are not yet ready to stop self-harming completely, but they come here for support and advice anyway. As long as you don't encourage it it's perfectly fine to not be ready. :)
(A big well done for giving your tools to your girlfriend and not buying more by the way! That's a really massive step and you're so brave to have done so. Keep up the good work.)
It might also be nice to make a thread on introductions (http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20) to tell us a bit more about yourself!
Take care and welcome to RYL <3
