The only way I can think to read the ezine is to stalk Mike and follow the link in his signature :-/ Is it not linked somewhere on the main page too, or am I just being retarded?

Just, it's a tip-top read, and would be dissapointing if people don't read it, just because it's not very easy to find.

This is a problem that we in the eZine have talked about quite a bit.

We did get Cam to do a mass PM, that didn't work, We wouldn't mind having a sticky (sp) in GC but the CT are cutting down on stickies (sp) so that won't happen.

But yeah maybe a link on the main page would be a good idea, i'll pass it on.

Also thank you for saying it's a tip top read, makes it worth while.

Yeah, I remember there being threads at the time, and I understand about wanting to reduce stickies.

What about it being mentioned in the community news thing on the home page? And surely it should be linked here: http://www.recoveryourlife.com/index.php?categoryid=196

Also, holy crap, just remembered I'm supposed to be writing something about the CT picnic meet for the ezine o_O When is the deadline?

That's a good idea, it's something the CT/mods would have to do as we have no power in the eZine to do these things.

Ohh yeah, I won't lie, I forgot about that haha.

Mmm..give me a min, i'll have a look.

I think whats going to (maybe?) happen is there is going to be one thread where the first post will be update every issue, to that it will be the official ezine thread, rather than making a new one each issue, this way it will be grouped into one thread thus easier to find.

Or we can all just stalk mike instead, either way works :P

The deadline is the 14th but if you could PM it to me or another eZine member before then that would be great.

Also like Mari says, my sig will always be updated to a link to the new eZine so it you can't find the threads just look there.

I'll admit, I've had a lot of trouble finding eZines in the past. I've always known they existed, but whenever my curiosity was aroused and I felt the need to read one, the effort needed to track them down was so great that I gave up before I got there. So I for one would love if there was a more obvious/easy way to get to them.

I think thats why we are discussing the one thread idea, because i do agree it would be less messy are more easier to find.

This, it should make it easier to find and stuff.

I like that idea. I'll have to keep an eye out for it then. :)

And as said above, if in doubt look for me sig, there's a link to the eZine in it or you can PM myself if you need.

Is it linked to on the Community News on the front page? That would be cool if it was. Also, why don't we have a locked thread as a sticky that can be updated each time a new one comes out?

I know we don't want sticky overkill but it'd be useful, and in the absence of a solid place for them it might be an idea?

The issue with a stickie is people tend to forget it is there and exists so sometimes they can be pointless.

That makes sense.

Is it being advertised on the front page at all (Community news / updating blurb to 'latest addition')?

Not as far as I know.

I never look at the main site and have always found the ezine really hard to find. I can understand the sticky thing but I think in this case one wouldn't hurt, say in General Chat and it could just have one post where the links to the ezines get listed.

^ agreed.

But also agree with Jo that it would be good to have in the community news bit, especially for new or just visiting people to see our talented ezine team, our sense of community, and encourage them to stick around :)

If I remember rightly, when the last eZine was out a few years ago wasn't their like a sub forum or something where they all were?

Bleeding Angel

Yes there was, but the way it worked ended up being really messy and not many issues where posted on it. It didn't work very well for posting things as every feature had to be posted in a new post and just looked horrible.

Fair enough.
I think a section on the main site would be the best bet I think. Just depends how easily it would be to update it on there.

I think we would need one both on the main site and the forum, because not many people use the main site at all.
