Reply to threads, communicate with us. :)
I understand how hard it can be to feel apart from and not know how to take those steps in to feel accepted.

Hi Lyanna, welcome to RYL.
I know you've already posted in Introductions, but feel free to take a good look around the site and get to know people.
If you're looking for support, I'm sure people will help you out in your General Support thread (http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3307736#post3307736) if you want to talk more about it.
Take care. :)

What's making you feel like you don't fit in?
I'd say give it time.. as the others said, keep posting, talk to people. You'll get to know people.
You can always PM me if you'd like to talk :)

I tried to post in threads and such things, but people are mostly communicating with themselves. I guess that's because I'm new.
I did reply to some threads, though.
Gone.

It can be a bit daunting to begin with, especially since everyone seems to have their own group of friends and you're not included in that. However, that's not necessarily true! Every single person on RYL started off in the same position that you have and sometimes making a random post in General Chat, joining in a thread or supporting others can help you feel more involved in the community. RYL tries to be as welcoming as possible though it can be scary etc. at first! Now you've made this post, too, people will remember you :).

Hey Lyanna, you posted in the chitty chat thread and you were welcomed in there, you are always welcome in that thread.
Like others have said, you just have to stick with it and people will reply etc, please don't be put off.
Edit it's the Chatty Chat Chat thread, I totally didn't get the name wrong.

Also I know it can be really scary in most threads, everyone knows each other and names and stuff like that but the best advice I can give is to just jump right in and chat/post/make threads. Don't worry if there is a convo already going on you just jump right in there and say hi or whatever you want to say (within the rules).

I posted some pictures in image board to start things off.
I wonder if someone will comment on those, though.

I have no idea, the picture boards ain't very active anyways so it can take time in there.

Sometimes the forums (like Vets, Picture, R&R etc) move slow compared to the rest of the boards so sometimes it can take a while for someone to comment.
Just jump in to chats in General or around the boards and people will soon recongize you and get to know you - it can take a while considering the amount of members on here, but the more you post more people will recognize your username. It can be intimidating and hard to post where people seem to know each other, but we were all there one so don't be afraid to join in conversations.

I have to say you have been a member for two days, unfortunately its going to take longer than two days to make friends on here. It was the same situation for everyone else that came onto the site, just reply to threads, pm people, maybe go on chat and just keep at it, but as i say it will take longer than a few days.

Like people have said keep posting. I'd also suggest welcoming new people (and mention you are also new) post in the fun and distractions helps you get recognised a bit more and the more you post the more your name will be recognised. :) I change my name often so have the issue that people don't recognise my new name. (I also have a chat username cos ryl chat doesnt like my * in my name) so I have people in chat who dont recognise me on forums and vice versa :) Welcome to ryl btw
