I may be appealing against a decision the cmht made about my care.
Do I write direct to them, or via my doctor?
Do I involve PALS or are they purely for the nhs hospitals?
what do i have to do...Ive never done this before and am quite scared
Is there an Advocate I can call on for help?
Would the cmht hold it against me, we already have a very rocky relationship...
Um, I think thats all for now, sorry about the questions.

to save posting twice....
I know that in the records the crisis team keep, there is something they have written which is really wrong and I need it changed. I spoke to an advocate who was based at the psych hospital i was staying in....and we got as far as the crisis team saying that they wouldnt remove it from their records/ But that I could write something and they would put it with the notes. That was a few years ago'....how do i go about it now...when I havent got an advocate to speak for me.....I need to know that the crisis team actually do this. Where do I get an advocate from? the NHS?
Thank you

The CMHT should not hold it against you. I believe decent members would not, and tbf you don't want to be involved with individuals who do concern themselves with matters nothing to do with current care.
Mind have advocates. ESAN is the version of PALS for mental health in your county and they have advocates too. So both or either I would contact.
It depends on what you want from your complaint in part as to if you contact your GP. If you need evidence from the GP notes you will need to contact the surgery using the freedom of information act to access copies and they will keep your request on record and it will be your GP who says you can view them as a lot of it will be written by themselves. If you feel your GP can corroborate your complaint in any way, make an appointment to discuss it. It could put their nose out of joint if they hear about it later [they may be contacted for their opinion later on, I don't know]. If you can keep them informed, try to because they would probably want to know if they were being quoted and such. Let them have copies of the complaint as if they are in agreement they may be willing to have a look over it and suggest something helpful to make your case stronger.

im sorry i may have missed a thread or something Rowie hun but just wondered how you were doing and what your thoughts are on this now?Hope you dont mind me bumping your thread.Just youve been in my thoughts a lot even when i havent managed to be here.i definitely think its worth you trying to appeal/get them to review this.i think it would be good to involve an advocate or PALS.i also think it would be very wrong of the CMHT to hold any request for a review/appeal against you as you have an absolute right to this and appropriate treatment and care and if they were to do so then i would complain about that too but this is also why i would strongly suggest using an advocate or PALS.Because then i really think they would have to definitely be extremely professional and would be immediately in trouble if they did try to hold things against you or be unreasonably difficult.i understand why you are afraid of this or making things worse.i would be to but please dont let it stop you cos you do have a right to review/an appeal and you so much deserve help, support and treatment and shouldnt have to try and cope alone. im just sorry you have to fight so hard for help when it is so clear how much you want and need it really.
With love
