I've been on Prozac for over three weeks now. I haven't had any change in my anxiety or depression, they are still the same, no improvement and maybe even gotton worse?

See, I've have no appetite, my anxiety is a lot worse, but how do I know if that is a side effect of the prozac or just the result my depression?

My anxiety was pretty bad before I started Prozac, but it's gotton worse, I honestly don't think it's got anything to do with prozac? Sam as my appetite, I think thats down to depression as I had it before I started prozac, but it seems to of gotton worse too? Which I was expecting as things generally do get worse over time, so do you think it's still down to my depression?

You have only been on the Prozac for 3 weeks, and this is not long enough for it to have an effect on your mood - this means your mood may well be declining as it would have without the medicine. Do keep taking the medicine and let your prescriber know about any changes in your moods.

Things should start to pick up in a few weeks time.

roiben is right - generally antidepressants take about 6-8 weeks to see some effect. Eating (either under or over) is a sign of depression.

I agree with roiben - continue taking the meds. If after another 3 weeks things arent improving or your symptoms get seriously worse (such as increased suicide feelings) then make an appointment with whoever prescribed it asap.

As the above said, antidepressants can take around a month or so to reach a steady concentration in your bloodstream. Give it some more time.

Prozac didn't make any noticeable change to my mood before about 2 months and that was after my dose was doubled. They can take a long time to kick in and your mood may worsen before this.

It will take a while for the prozac to kick in, but you may need to be on a higher dosage, they have to start you on a real low dosage and slowly increase. Also maybe after you've been on it a while and still feel the same, mention to your doctor as it may not be the right anti depressent for you. I know I had to try a few different ones before i found the right one. xx
