Okay. This is going to be difficult to explain.

So you've been on an anti-depressant for two years to treat major depression. You're still currently taking the anti-depressant and you develop an eating disorder, which no body knows about (which this anti-depressant claims it can treat). So does that mean the anti-depressant will treat the eating disorder?

I think they use it to try and combat some of the symptons you are are having.

You should really take to someone about it hunny.
I'm here if you wanna talk anytime.

Hmmm.....anti-depressants are there to treat depression but as a side effect of some anti-depressants, they cause weight gain thus partially helping with eating disorders. You should talk to your GP / whoever prescribe the medications and ask him what each of your medications are for...hopefully they will be unfront in telling you why your are on that meds?

Not completely, no it won't. You can't rely on an anti-depressant to treat an ED on it's own. Also, when you take anti-depressants for ED's i.e Prozac for bulimia, the dose is different for helping the symptoms of bulimia than it is for depression. (60 mg for bulimia and 20 mg for depression typically.)
I think your best bet would be to talk to a professional about your ED. Don't leave it up to the anti depressant to sort it out because it's unlikely that it will.
