i have been hallucinating for 3 and a half months since taking 40mg of prozac for a week. i can see the face of a man and hands and shapes coming towards my body.
i'm really scared, the old psychiatrist i had just diagnosed me as borderline pd, and said it was all in my head. i told him i didn't want to see him anymore.
has anyone ever experienced this, do you think i will get better, i'm terrified that it will be like this forever.

I have BPD too, although I don't experience hallucinations, and I don't think that hallucinations are part of the diagnostic criteria for it.
Could it be a side effect of the medication you are on?

The way you worded this sentence made me think that you have experienced hallucinations for 3 and a half months since being on Prozac. But don't worry about it :-D
Some psychiatrists can be really rubbish, the second one I saw was absolutely cr*p and I wish I'd never seen him.
Hope this new one can help you though :-)

Oh stress can cause hallucinations as well. I would look up what could cause them (instead of looking up what mental condition they are a symptom of).

Hey, I have BPD too and hallucinations, but I'm told they're past of something else going on in my brain.
As Kat says, stress can trigger them, as can things like alcohol. Mine are always worse when I'm anxious, or in a state where I'm less able to reason that they're not real.
Your psych sounds really, well, blunt (but that's not really the right word!). Technically they ARE in your head, but they're experienced physically/visually/aurally.
Be really honest with the new one, and let me know how things are going. Ev x

my psychiatrist has upped my dose of olanzapine to 10mg now,
it's really scary, she said it might or might not work
she mainly thought psychotherapy is what will kill it
has anyone else taken that route and gotten better?
