I have done a search for this drug under the forums and found some

useful information.

However, I have one question to those that have taken chlorpromazine for

anxiety:

Did you take the drug on as and when needed or take it daily. The reason I ask is that I suspect the sedating aspect of the drug diminishes and and so do its anxiolytic effects if taken regularly.

Thanks

I've taken this largactil before.
I found it really helped.
I was taking it as a PRN, but using it everyday.
It is dependent on the dose, frequency of doses taken and the effects per each individual as to how much of a sedating effect it has. The sedative effect for me did wear off as i become tolerant, but the anti-psychotic and anti-anxiety effects continued.
I also opted for the syrup over the tablet as it (obviously) took effect sooner.

Is your Dr suggesting you take largactil? If so how do you feel about it?

I would like to take it voluntarily as my anxiety is so bad I feel I have no other choice. Minor tranquilizers have done nothing to take the edge off of it.
