Where do you usually find new music?
Just out of curiosity :tongue2:
The radio and I search for new bands online on sites like NME and Xfm. Or I'll just do a google search for indie bands for instance and youtube a few from the Wikipedia list sometimes finding something decent :)
Best seller lists on amazon can be good too.

I used to use Pandora, and that was awesome.
But now that it can only be used in the United States, I'm mostly just searching around on the internet, usually youtube and similar sites.

Pandora was LOVE. I'm sure there's a not-entirely-legal-way-using-proxys to get around the whole not being in the States thing. But its so much hastle. But I found SO many bands I adore through that site.
Back in the day, when I was young and only spent my money on gigs, train fare and CDs, I used to go into Fopp and pick up CDs for a fiver or less of bands that intrigued me, or Amazon had reccomended or something. Got a lot of good music from there.
These days its just mates and mass harddrive exchanges really.
And festival lists- if I go to a festival I try to obtain at least one track of every artist on the 2 biggest stages.

When i go to festivals i check out 90% of the bands that are playing, some of the best acts i have seen have been in the unsigned tent or small stages.
Magazines, youtube, interviews with bands I like who talk about their favourite bands/songs and friends too.

I sometimes go to gnoosic.com. It's similar to Pandora, except that it's not streaming radio. It prompts you to enter the names of three bands, and then generates band/artist names based on your selections. It doesn't actually play the songs, though. I'm pretty sure it's not limited to the US; it offers translated versions. But I haven't looked too far into it yet.

-Randomly buying CDs who's album covers I like
-Looking at my favorite bands websites and checking out all the bands that are touring with them
-Going to cheap shows around town
-Pandora
-Occasionally magazines/music video channels
Never radio though. The radio sucks here.

Sometimes radio (mainly Absolute80s :P), but mostly either from film/TV soundtracks and just coming across stuff on the internet, like an article on a band or something that catches my eye.
That's how I discovered Elliott Smith <3
