why cant i log into chat? it keeps saying my name isnt an availability or whatever.. wats all tht about?

It could be because you have ':' in your name. I'm not sure, though.

There have been issues with name punctuation in chat; Chat Question... (http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9117) is an older post about the same issue.

Yeah, Harley posted a bit ago saying there was an issue with chat and special characters like # * ! etc, I think he said he was going to try and fix it.

Yes, that's my recollection too. However, it's not something Harley can do himself, he has to wait on the people who supply the chat system to fix it.

In the meantime, if you want to use chat you will probably have to PM Harley or (better still) James, and ask them to change your name to something chat will accept. James is usually very helpful on this from what i've seen. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if he stops by on this thread and offers his services.

Yep, PM me with a 'simpler' version of your username and I'll get that changed for you :)

Not ideal as a workaround, but no idea sadly when the chat company are actually going to get off their backsides and fix their shoddy code!!

No, i have my doubts about that Day Tripper's bathing habits, or lack thereof...

Yes, I see they have now upgraded chat to a much newer version

And I also see they have not fixed this name bug.

Any non normal character used in username fails to log in with chat, such as colons, commas, slashes etc

It is a pain I know, and I could sort if I had written chat - I will poke them again!


Not sure what this Mod stuff is about, but if you PM me with the problem I can pass it on to them
